I’ve been watching this unfold with barely concealed glee. The response from actual viewers has been refreshingly blunt. “Call me crazy but that’s the free market,” one observer noted. “If demand isn’t there, characters and shows will be canceled.” Another put it even more simply: “If you don’t make money, you get canned. Not rocket science” (imagine that). These aren’t culture warriors speaking; they’re Americans who understand basic economics and resent having their entertainment transformed into afternoon specials.
What we’re witnessing isn’t discrimination – it’s course correction. For years, Hollywood convinced itself that Twitter sentiment represented American sentiment, that a vocal minority’s demands reflected majority preferences. It’s because 41% of the LGBT folks are portrayed as caricatures of gay folk. If they showed them as they are in real life…in the workplace…you would likely not know they were there.
Gay characters for the sake of having Gay characters comes off as contrived.
i think we’ve all worked around them and it never even came up in conversation.
TV and Hollywood are so disconnected they keep producing stuff THEY like…without regard for what the paying customers want. The entertainment pipelines have been filled with this garbage for years. It’s going to take a while to burn through the backlog and get some decent entertainment going.

The GLAAD statement is stupid and dishonest, but that’s to be expected given the source.
I’m pretty sure there have always been homosexuals in the movies, as well as sexually confused actors, even when they were all closeted.
Now they don’t have to be closeted and the offense against the identity gods today, if we took the cant seriously, is that gay actors are still allowed to play straight characters onscreen. Horrors.
What GLAAD actually wants is a gay or trans subplot in every movie or show, with BLTQZYS charactors either clearly labelled (without stereotyping, of course) or dramatically outed in the big reveal. I.e., GLAAD wants branding and propaganda in films and shows.
As opposed to casting the best actor for the part, who may be whatever, and making a movie that doesn’t turn on sexual confusion.

Haven’t watched TV in some time evidently?
I think the entertainment people think that everyone who got turned off by all the gay stuff on TV is just going to start watching lots of TV again after they take some of the gay characters out.
I think they’re mistaken.
They did that to the NCIS series too. Even having a lezzie couple on NCIS Hawaii. They shipped one of the women off to a vessel at sea to get her off the show without completely dropping the storyline. The next year the show got cancelled.
The woke is being rolled back everywhere.
I have to log onto Paypal and Square just about every business day. On their home page they have photographs of what are supposed to be small business owners or other people that use their services. For the past few years it has always been a member of an under-represented (ah-hem) group...usually a black man or woman, sometimes obvious a member of the Alphabet people as well.
A couple of weeks ago I noticed Square had replaced their static pictures with videos and, in those self-same videos, there is nary a minority to be seen! Okay, there might be some Hispanics (heck, they could be Italian) and for a brief second there is a black woman seated at a table with a bunch of non-blacks, but the rest are pretty darn Caucasian.
Paypal still has three static photos on their page, but today they are an Asian woman, an Asian man, and a woman who might be Hispanic or might just have dark hair and a tan. Someone took the required black people right off the page!
People are so tired of it. That’s not entertainment; it’s forcing an agenda and lifestyle that God calls sin. Many of us, as believers, don’t want to come into agreement with it. That goes also for the constant barrage of violence, foul language and jumping from one bed to another in these trashy shows. Hollywood finally wants to cancel what most of the public has been tuning out for years. The average person used that remote to shut off/switch away from what we have no interest in watching endlessly.

And why are they always pictured the exact opposite of the way they are in real life? in a perfect happy committed relationship, instead of the living hell they actually live in with 100+ sexual partners!
