#1-Trump is trying to justify the legitimacy of tariffs by the POTUS. He is putting pressure on the Supreme Court.

#2-This will satisfy lower income voters-Trump is doing something so they'll all get a check. It'll help the GOP during the midterms next year.

Our debt of $$$39 trillion is mathematically impossible to pay off.

$2000 to citizens could be used for gun ammo ,protection, readiness purchases, prepping to reduce dependence on .gov. $2K if spent wisely could easily purchase a month or more of freeze dried goods, water prep, basics as to not “ burden” .gov in tornadoes, hurricanes, emergencies.

Prepared citizens do not loot, riot and steal.
