Nick Fuentes, the highly controversial white nationalist roiling the MAGA movement, took a victory lap over Vice President JD Vance, following his interview with Tucker Carlson last week.
Fuentes has long been a fierce critic of Vance and has made deeply racist comments in the past about Vance’s interracial and mixed-faith marriage. Carlson’s platforming of Fuentes on his show has led to an escalating battle on the right as many argue that such blatant hate speech should remain outside the realm of mainstream MAGA, whereas Carlson has let it in.
“He’s getting squeezed because the Groypers are on the one hand saying, ‘Hey, listen, fat boy, we want America first. You want to run for president? We want to hear you say America first.’ And on the other side, he’s got his donors, and they’re saying, ‘They’re horrible anti-Semites. You have to disavow them. You have to forcefully condemn them. Condemn Tucker. Condemn the Groypers,’” Fuentes began, referring to his followers, who are widely known as “Groypers.”

Fuentes’s rising influence on the right has been on vivid display in recent months as he’s joined prominent podcasts and is reaching an ever-growing audience. Following his appearance on Carlson’s show, many of Fuentes’ shocking past statements, ranging from Holocaust denial to sexual violence to his insults of Vance, have gone viral yet again, highlighting why he has long been relegated to the fringe of the right.

Okay, I’ll say it... I suspect that this Fuentes character is (intentionally or unintentionally) part of some kind psy-op intended to discredit conservatives.

I don't think he's really antisemitic. He's getting paid for it so he's a grifter.
The only Fuentes I knew of was Tito who played second base for the Giants in the late 60’s and became their Spanish announcer.
Who is this Fuentes guy and why are we suddenly be bombarded with information about him?
I think he has a very dangerous style. He gives voice to many legitimate grievances in a bombastic and confrontational manner that appeals to angry young men. He then pivots from those legitimate grievances into calling for a racialist worldview and policy. For instance he will start off decrying the high rates of black on white crime, then he will pivot into a position where criminality is immutable to blackness, then he will call for policy based on skin color instead of behavior.
In a sense he is every bit the boogie man leftist conjure up with the term “white nationalist.”

I am loathe to believe the over-used “anti-Semite” slur, so I looked up Nick Fuentes quotes. He’s definitely an anti-Semite:

I don’t care who JD married but I don’t want him to support Indian immigration into America. I’m sure his wife is fine but we don’t need Indians in America. Thinking he might be soft on Indian invasion because of his wife is a legitimate concern.
Fuentes has said Jews ‘have no place in this country” and would face “mass executions when we take power.”
