L.A. Hosts Yet Another Pride Parade

LOS ANGELES, CA — In celebration of a historic weekend that brought excitement and joy to the entire city, crowds gathered downtown as Los Angeles hosted yet another flamboyant Pride parade.

Revelers from throughout the greater L.A. metropolitan area made the trek into town, where they engaged in dancing, waving flags, and other austentacious displays of gayness that observers said topped the city's previous Pride parade from earlier in the year.

"This one was even more gay," said one witness. "We all thought the first parade the city held during the summer was over the top, with the lewd acts, leather clothing, body paint, and other stuff, but that was nothing. This one takes the cake. The gay cake."

Sources on the scene said that they were able to identify the event as a Pride parade after such a large number of celebrants were seen wearing Dodgers gear, long understood to be a clear sign of gayness. "It's just as clear as a rainbow flag," one attendee said. "This many Dodgers fans in one place can only mean two things — a baseball game or a Pride parade. In both situations, it's an unapologetic festival of everything that's gay."

City officials confirmed that today's parade was an even larger celebration of than the previous parade. "This is two years in a row that we've had an impromptu Pride parade in November," one insider said. "Our thanks to the Dodgers for making this possible."

At publishing time, the Dodgers' front office reaffirmed its dedication to making every effort to ensure that the city would have opportunities to keep hosting Pride parades in November for years to come.

Given the recent NBA scandals, you have to wonder how honest any of the Big 4 sports are or for that matter college football and basketball. You can go back to the Black Sox World Series fix of over a century ago to see that gambling corrupted baseball. I don't doubt that the money corrupts athletes, coaches, and referees, especially the last group, as their salaries are minuscule compared with those received by players and coaches.

I read most US betting was on the Dodgers. Something like 80% of the money. The reverse happened in Canada. The US sports books lost on the result. Not a lot since the odds were heavily in favour of the Dodgers but some. They were certainly wanting a Jays win.
