Despite making up less than 1% of the U.S. population, transgender people are frequent targets of disinformation and scapegoating. This has been especially true for transgender athletes.
This year, three volleyball players at Santa Rosa Junior College filed a U.S. Department of Education complaint alleging Title IX violations by the school and the California Community College Athletic Association for allowing a transgender player on the school’s team.
The players claimed, among other things, that the trans player posed a physical danger to them.

If a doctor prescribed diet pills to an anorexic, or performed liposuction on an anorexic, he'd be sitting in prison and the hospital sued out of existence.
Yet, if he prescribes opposite sex hormones and mutilates the genitals of a patient with Gender Dysphoria, even to the point of sterilization, he's rewarded.

Ironically, the more these people are coddled and accepted in society, the more they suffer psychological damage and complain about it. Now, their main stressor point is that no one wants to date them.
Maybe the source is elsewhere.
