Two planes collided on the tarmac at LaGuardia on Friday evening, according to The New York Post.
This is the second time that planes have collided on the taxiway at LaGuardia this month.
A United Plane bumped into another United jet on taxiway amid delays due to bad weather and staffing shortages on Friday evening.
Emergency vehicles responded to the scene.
No injuries were reported.
The New York Post reported:
Two planes collided on the tarmac at LaGuardia Friday as the airport grappled with intense delays brought on by weather and staffing shortages, The Post has learned.
A United Airlines plane returning from Orlando was turning into its arrival gate when it clipped the tail of another United jet on the taxiway, a spokesperson for the airline said.
The clipped plane, which was waiting to be taxied for its journey to Houston, was stationary at the time.
“We all felt a bump during taxi to the runway but didn’t know it was another plane until the captain said it was,” a passenger, who declined to share their name, said.
A video obtained by The Post showed numerous emergency vehicles at the scene.
Earlier this month on person was injured after two planes collided at LaGuardia.
Two Canadair jets crashed into each other in what was described as a “low-speed collision.”
“Delta teams at our New York-LaGuardia hub are working to ensure our customers are taken care of after two Delta Connection aircraft operated by Endeavor Air were involved in a low-speed collision during taxi,” Delta spokesperson Morgan Durrant said.
“Delta will work with all relevant authorities to review what occurred as safety of our customers and people comes before all else. We apologize to our customers for the experience.”

“No injuries were reported.”
I’m pretty sure I got whiplash over here. Probably from falling debris that bounced off the tarmac. Let me find a neck brace and I’ll call a lawyer. Is Saul Goodman still practicing?
“delays brought on by weather and staffing shortages“
Oh. Ok.
Exactly.
Sounds like the Costco parking lot

PILOTS IMITATING THOSE WITH ILLEGAL CDL’S FOR DRIVING TRUCKS?
Horribly written article...
A tarmac specifically refers to the surface of the runway or apron where planes park or load passengers.
Taxiway, is between the runway and the terminals. It’s designed for aircraft to taxi to and from runways.
A bump refers to a minor and unintentional impact, while a collision implies a more forceful and significant impact that can lead to damage or injury.
The pilot said “We’ve got this”...just like the commercial on TV says.
I am calling Jacoby and Meyers accident attorneys right away.
I’m with you on this. I’m surprised it wasn’t a BOMBSHELL report.
It usually takes the press reporting on something a person is very familiar with to expose the actual stupidity of most journalism.
I just remind myself that the journalist is a 23 year old valley girl that just finished J-School and has no real world knowledge.

Better down here than up there, I guess.
No more Ground Controllers like Kennedy Steve, great controller but a hoot of a comedian sometimes. See YouTube.
