Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth moved into a home at Fort McNair traditionally reserved for the Army’s vice chief of staff. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and others also now live in military housing.
Quarters 8 at Fort McNair in Washington, situated along the Anacostia River, has traditionally been the home of the Army’s vice chief of staff. But at the beginning of President Trump’s second term, it was vacant.
The general promoted to the vice chief’s position had opted to remain on a different base nearby, across the Potomac. That provided an opening for Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth to claim it.
As Mr. Hegseth settled into the home, which an Army history notes is guarded by two Revolutionary War-era cannons, other Trump officials also took up residence at housing built and designed for senior admirals and generals in the Washington area.
A handful of White House officials have lived in military housing in the past, but it appears to be unusual for several cabinet members and other officials to move into military quarters in such a short amount of time.
Three former residents of Quarters 8 expressed frustration that a senior officer was not living at the home, which they said would cause a ripple effect and make it more difficult for admirals and generals posted in the area to find affordable housing.
“It’s a great place,” said retired Army Gen. Dennis J. Reimer, who lived in Quarters 8 when he served as the Army’s vice chief of staff in the early 1990s. “It’s like one out of the movies — you have that spiral staircase and you’re right over a riverbank.”
The trend of Trump administration officials taking over military...

Pete has many children I doubt he is thrilled with the school choices.
Pete Hegseth and his third wife have seven children between them. Three of his and three of hers. One of which is their own. They range in age of 5 to 15.
A regluar Brady Bunch.
Does the base have it’s own school? If yes, then it is probably top notch.
Presumab;y he was living in the DC area before as he was employed by Fox News.
I just now see it is in south Washington DC. The housees are on the Washington Channel, not the Anacosta River.
“Yours, Mine, and Ours”…my dad loved that movie, I think he identified with it…he was a Naval officer with a wife and six kids…:)
The reason they moved in was completely ignored by the Democrat party official paper.
Families were under threats by the loser Democrat party leftists.
It was deemed too dangerous for families to reside
in public places like normal people can.
Pretty sad when most of the population is fearful of a minority nutcase Democrat gang and won’t deal it!
I’d be shooting if they threatened me. I don’t care
about their lives, they have no meaning to me.
I just worry about my legal bills.
And he is Secretary of War
“ “Yours, Mine, and Ours””
One of my favorites too!
The Sec Def can live in any military quarters he desires. The only government quarters off limits to his residence are the White House and VP residence.
Cartels.
It is not the cartels, and it is not threats. DSS, Marshals, and SS could secure them in their homes, even make their neighborhoods gated communities, temporarily.
They are getting hit with the Havana Syndrome, and it is near impossible to tell where it is coming from due to the nature of the tech. Some think it is using some kind of new physics, maybe scalar waves. But since they can’t get a blanket warrant to tear apart all the houses in the neighborhood looking for emitters buried in walls, they are just pulling them out to a place the government can secure for some distance in each direction.
People do nto understand, the war is not against leftists. What you are looking at, in those “radicals” are actors and assets owned by an oppositional force that has spent decades at least embedding itself in government and the intel agencies. And now it seems to have worked it so it’s intel apparatuses are self-funded, and self-perpetuating. There is a real war right now in the intel community.
Its rich to hear the perfumed princes of the Pentagon bemoan the loss of their special privileges, even as they undermine the administration and the government they claim to serve.
