Billie Eilish’s acceptance speech at the WSJ Magazine Innovator Awards stayed with the attendees and resonated with the global audience.

“I love you all, but there are a few people here with a lot more money than me,” she said. “If you’re a billionaire—why are you a billionaire? No hate, but yeah, give your money away, shorties,” Billie said.

Social media got flooded with one looming question: How Much Has Taylor Swift Donated?

Swift reportedly donated about $6.5 million to charity in 2025. The total amount, however, is expected to be much higher as many charities didn’t reveal the exact donation amount.

“Giving money away” is a stupid, post-modern, useless neo-marxist attitude.

It takes real wisdom to give money away - such that it actually has a good effect, doesn’t get wasted or stolen, or worse, doesn’t go to promote evil.

I don’t think about Taylor Swift much, but read that after her last concert tour, she gave every roadie and driver for her team a $125K bonus.

THAT is generosity, which is targeted, effective, and creates community.

Indeed and any city or country that hosted the tour had a sizable economic boon to boot.

Dear dumbass. THEIR money they EARNED (mostly). They pay their road crews and musicians and ancillary folks. No billionaires to create jobs for thousands of folks. So shut up and sing!

“… she said. “If you’re a billionaire—why are you a billionaire?”

Generally, outside of crime, billions are earned by producing a marketable product or service, wise investments, or other methods in our capitalist model.

Anticipating next question, billionaires can choose to donate as much as they wish. Perhaps it depends on what kind of legacy they want to leave behind. They also very likely pay a crapton of taxes, which gets promptly flushed down the toilet by retarded and/or evil bureaucrats.

And it is not counted as charity when she gives money to the roadies. Many here don’t like her but she has helped many people with money.

<< utilizing her platform to nudge billionaires towards charity. >>

As long as the charities meet her lefty approval.

When ol’ Billy takes that vow of poverty maybe I’ll value what she thinks is “too much” money.

imho the best way to give money away is to give prizes to companies that reduce the cost of energy.

why? because the cost of energy is at the root of civilization progress and because reductions in energy costs act not just like a tax cut but like a progressive tax cut—where benefits to the lower 90% of the population by income is greater than the benefits to the top 10% of the population.

Prizes should be huge.

The benefits of prizes is that the foundation that gives them is less likely to degrade over time. for example the noble prize has declined less from its original mission than the rockefeller foundation.

But more and more those billionaires are trust fund kids.

Bile-y Eyelash doesn’t math very well. Let us take a few numbers. Taylor swift is worth approximately $1.6 billion. She has untold numbers of fans, but let’s just use an approximate. A gaggle search shows Not-so Swift has 94.1 million followers on X. If Taylor were to split her wealth amongst these 94,100,000 people, they each get $17.00. Woohoo! They now have enough to get a couple of meals at McDonald’s. If she were to split it between the approximately 342.75 million people in the USA, that would work out to $4.67. And then she’d be broke, wouldn’t be able to go on tour (that’s a shame) and wouldn’t be able to pay the hundreds of people who have jobs thanks to her, and not one person would be able to buy a Big Mac Meal with the windfall.

How much has Eilish donated? Nothing I bet. With her success she has plenty of money. Jealousy is ugly like Billie Eilish.

They never ask or state how much taxes do they pay. They ought to run through the amount of their taxes with a standard deduction.

“The 2025 edition's honorees including Hailey Bieber, Billie Eilish, Nadège Vanhée, Spike Lee, Priscilla Chan, Ben Stiller, and Mellody Hobson and George Lucas.”

Plus Stephen Colbert showed up to introduce Eilish, so any lefty billionaire who showed up for this woke fest deserves to be publicly embarrassed.

The Bible says 10%. That’s what my wife and I have always tried to give to charity. Couldn’t always do it, but try to.
