Her sole job right now is to get the ratings up. That directly affects the bottom line of advertising revenue.
The more eyeballs on the screen the more revenue.
She’s doing exactly what other corporations would be doing if the situations were reversed: Steal the talent from the other guys that have better ratings.
She ought to consider going BBC-style and have News Presenters instead of celebrity anchors. People tune in to hear NEWS, not see celebrities.
With a different Presenter every evening people would tune in just to see who’s up tonight.
Save millions of dollar in celebrity salaries right from the start..................
It's all about the money in the end...not the actual news itself. Thank God I don't watch news programs or live programming. I refuse to sit through any ads.
I wonder what restrictions CBS will put on the gullible people they can suck away from other networks. Those jobs always come with a hitch.

That is an unknown at this point as she is new to the job as well.....................
No, not for the nightly news role.
I have no clue. I never watched him when he was on Fox News because I stopped watching that network and all news programming in 2008. I never watched any of his stuff since he left Fox, but people here were raving about him when he was on Fox.
Yeah, but not so much since then...it would be a disaster for CBS, but, then again, maybe that’s a good thing :(
I remember there was a CBS logo that was regularly posted on threads here over the years. It consisted of the CBS Eye, but with a crying baby where the pupil was. That picture has stuck with me.
She is smarter, and more bold, than I thought.
And she’s just 41.................

“She is smarter, and more bold, than I thought.”
Not too long ago Bari Weiss made a bold statement that surprised a lot of people because she wasn’t toeing the liberal line. I THINK it had to do with Covid or the vax (similar to Naomi Wolf). But I’m not positive re the subject.
I recall that I was impressed.
