Megyn Kelly and Meghan McCain went back and forth on X on Thursday after the latter criticized Tucker Carlson’s behavior during his stand-in appearance for Charlie Kirk at Turning Point USA’s debate/speaking event at Indiana University on Tuesday.
Man: "You’re worth $50 million dollars…"
Tucker Carlson: "I'm not worth $50 million dollars… get off the f*cking Internet son…"
Man: "You're got real defensive there… Jesus Christ, calm down."
Carlson: "Don't use that phrase! We're done!"
“Every single thing about this is the polar opposite of how Charlie Kirk debated people who disagreed with him,” McCain said in an X post on Thursday. “Swearing at students and making a spectacle is beneath everyone,” McCain added.
A few hours later, Kelly checked into the conversation by telling McCain to just be grateful that Carlson took the time out of his “busy” schedule to make the event. “No one is expecting any of the ppl subbing for Charlie to imitate Charlie,” Kelly said. “Tucker is standing in for his friend despite his own busy life & not without risk to Tucker’s own safety. I think the appropriate reaction is just: thank you & may God bless you and keep you safe, TC.”
About 30 minutes later, McCain responded with: “We’re just gonna have to agree to disagree Megyn.”

Nobody can replace Charlie. He was unique. Fortunately many videos of him at work still survive and will speak for him for years to come.

Carlson does not seem like the right person to do what Kirk did. He doesn't have the right temperment to deal with kids who may try to goad him. He takes the bait and he has a self-righteous streak.
Carlson was obviously telling the kid to get a life and put down the internet for a while, expand his horizons and find out what is really true.
Meghan is from them we run everything and have no need to explain ourselves to the peons branch of the uniparty.

Tucker shut him down when he used JC. Not sure what Charlie would have done.
This did come up once during a debate with Charlie. He asked the person what his mother’s name was. When the person told him, Charlie asked him, would you want people using your mother’s name as a profanity?
Where is it written that everyone right of center has to ape what everyone approves of?

It’s either an attempt to have influence on the right or honest revulsion at the left, but Megan McCain has been sounding a lot better lately on X, going after Dems. Maybe it’s an act, but she at least sees where the wind is blowing and it’s not back to the Bush, McCain, Romney days.
That is a good reply. I agree with Megan, Tucker shouldn’t try to pretend to be Charly.
In my opinion, Carlson shouldn’t have used the F word and the “man” shouldn’t have used the Lord’s name in vain.
The ladies both have a point. Tucker does not seem suited for replacing Charlie Kirk. I don’t know that he was trying to.
I don’t know Meghan McCain from Meghan Markle. I like to look at and listen to Megyn Kelly and have to remind myself that she is a married woman with children.
Megyn generally says sensible things too. She really took down Stephanopoulos on his stance on women and Trump - compared to his stance on women and Bill Clinton. As far as I know, she was the only one to take him to task.
Megan needs to stay far away from the McCain family.
