A growing number of Republicans on Capitol Hill have raised concerns about President Trump’s expanding war against drug cartels carried out without consultation or authorization by Congress, and are pressing for more information and involvement in a campaign whose legal basis remains murky.
Most in the group have not expressed explicit opposition to the strikes that have been carried out so far against boats in the Caribbean Sea and, this week, expanded to the Pacific. The vast majority of Republicans have enthusiastically rallied behind them, and this month, all but two of them voted to block a measure that would terminate the president’s campaign.
But for a G.O.P.-led Congress that has seldom questioned Mr. Trump on any matter, foreign or domestic, the skepticism reflects a rare and potentially significant bit of dissent over a widening war.
“We have oversight responsibilities, and we expect to get our questions answered,” Senator Mike Rounds, Republican of South Dakota and a member of the Armed Services Committee, said in an interview on Wednesday.

“Rarely oppose”
LOL
I wonder how many of these Republicans are on the take from the cartels?
🔝🔝🔝
10th drug boat blown up
Nor surprising Rand Paul supports the drug cartels vs American safety.
He’s absolutely despicable as is anyone who supports or promotes him...and yes, I’m looking at you RandFan!
You dont KNOW for sure they’re drug boats
It’s extra-judicial killing
Why wont you use the correct label?
Good grief...you’re a low IQ leftwing lefttard!
Rand says in Miami up to a quarter of them when searched are innocent
You therefore might be blowing up innocents. Not good. I’m not surprised a lot of GOP senators are grumbling about it but only Rand has guts

Thanks for posting.
If Democrats/socialists have their way, it WILL take an act of Congress just for police to be able to arrest criminals caught in the act. (Just think of how many more government jobs will be “created” from this!)
That’s too bad about Rand Paul. Do any of them even know what happens in Mexico to a rancher or farmer* when a drug cartel decides that it wants his land and operation? The cartel walks in and takes it - the local police don’t interfere. If the rancher or farmer wants to stay on the land, he and family work for the cartel. if not, they have to leave immediately.
The above has been going on for a few generations in South Africa and NOW it’s going on in Mexico and Central/South America.
Checking in on the citizens of Memphis, Tennessee, shows that they are happy and grateful for the President and his team stepping in to halt the organized crime takeover.

* Oh, and for that matter: Do any of them have any idea what usually happens to politicians when the cartels start to take over....? 😁😸
LOL...Santa Claus has more credibility & intellectual IQ than that despicable faker!
I am utterly weary of Rand Paul. And Collins. And Murkowski.
To me, they seem to be to be conspicuous outliers so often not for some deeply-held noble principles; but for attention and notoriety.
The thing is killing them or executing them on the spot is not good idea the death pen. is not even used for them in the court or judicial system
WTF is Trump and the Admin. doing using the military to kill these people. Drug dealers might be despicable, but they dont deserve to be blown up. And there could be innocents among them even carrying cargo they have no clue about or just someone desperate for a payday and yet you endorse blowing them to pieces with the military which was never the intention and has never been sanctioned by Congress
I wonder how many of these Republicans have the Drug Cartels lining their pockets and slopping the pig troughs. These RINOs appear so innocent and good intentioned, but actually, they are corrupt pigs at the feeding trough of Washington’s governmental influence peddlers.
My first thoughts too. There is a big economy involved in DC influence peddling.
My first thoughts too. There is a big economy involved in DC influence peddling.
They should be bombing Mexico then not Caracas
Your definition of a RINO seems to be “Anyone who disagrees with me or Trump”
Or “Anyone opposed to the blatant UNAUTHORIZED use of the US military to kill civilians” (however despicable)
I’d love to know what the honest stalwart posters around here think of this new and in my opinion senseless policy. Good use of the military?
Such a stellar list of losers. Lanksford needs to be primaried.
