WASHINGTON, D.C. β As demo and construction continued on the highly publicized construction project to build a new White House ballroom, a new report said President Donald Trump had already made his 73rd trip to Home Depot since the start of the renovation.
Seeking to complete the project without going over budget, Trump arrived at the local Home Depot with yet another list of materials and tools needed, marking his 12th trip of the day and his 73rd of the last three days.
"Forgot to get some of this stuff when I was here this morning," Trump told reporters as he arrived in the store. "It's a big project. One of the biggest. It's easy to lose track of everything you're going to need. Every time you come here, you think you get it all, but then you start working and you find out you need more. Always more. It's crazy. But at least Home Depot is orange. I love the orange."
While shopping for the latest list of items he needed, Trump reportedly asked a Home Depot employee what had happened to the large group of workers for hire who used to assemble in the parking lot every morning. "There used to be a bunch of Mexicans outside, am I right?" he asked. "What happened to those guys? I could really use some extra help on the construction project. Those guys used to work for really cheap. We loved those guys. Now they disappeared. It's a shame."
At publishing time, Trump had reportedly asked his motorcade to turn around and head back for a 74th trip to Home Depot after forgetting a box of screws.
βI see a lot of brass fixtures here. What have you got with gold plate? Could you get something if I give you specs?β
Home Depot has some pretty good deals right now.
So there’s that . . .
Minimum 2 trips to the Home Depot for any project. It’s in the Geneva Convention.
Isn’t that normal for trips to Home Depot when a project is underway? I know I always forget things, even when I have a list.
As for Trump, though, he has people who have people to handle construction projects.
The Bee, as usual, has it right. No list is big enough!
I’m lucky in that I don’t want to drive that far.
Show up at Home Depot before 8:00am and you’ll find some attractive bargains in day laborers too.
At least two! π
I laughed several times while reading this one! :-)
Because you can relate right?....I know I can. π
Reverse it.
I have it in the Wedding vows that it is a minimum of two trips to the hardware store for ANY project. Hang one picture: two trips.
I always forget something....but if I think real hard....I’ll remember where I put the damn thing.
I hope he skipped over the golden bric a brac in Aisle 20. LOL π€
-Minimum 2 trips to the Home Depot for any project.-
My Home Depot is only quarter mile from my house so I use it as my warehouse. Two trips a day? No problem.
I don’t want to store all the crap I may need (Where the heck did I put that thing?) so I just let them store it for me so I will know where it is when I need it.
I’d LMAO if ICE were to go and check all the construction crews IDs to make sure everything is kosher one morning...
At 40 minutes each way to the nearest Home Depot in Hyattsville, MD, he’s spending a lot of time in “The Beast”. Or can he take the Chopper?
“....Home Depot is orange. I love the orange.”
He should be going to Menards instead. With that 11% rebate it will add up to big money on a 300 million dollar job.
Are the scouts still selling cookies???
Subterfuge’s Axiom: “Minimum 2 trips to the Home Depot for any project. Itβs in the Geneva Convention.”
Castlebrew’s Corollary: Especially after 4pm on Sunday. Especially for a plumbing project.
