@RepThomasMassie
Last night, @SchmittNYC & I discussed the President’s proposal to purchase more beef from Argentina.
The America First solution to rising beef prices is my bill, the PRIME Act.
It would empower farmers to sell directly to consumers without corporate middlemen.

And in the meantime?
Argentina beef is excellent.
Among the best. đŸ˜‹
You don’t even need a steak knife.
there has to be a balance between killing north American cows and killing south American cows
you know that the weather is opposite between the hemispheres, right?
so this means that killing the north cows reduces “global warming” in USA and Canada, so it goes south
and killing south cows reduces “global warming” in Argentina and Brasil.
Thus, the earth spins west in the northern hemisphere and spins east in the southern hemisphere
This increases friction in the techtonic plates, creating big massive dangerous earthquakes
that kill more cows (and incidentally, people.. but who cares about them? People are expendable, earth is over-populated, correct!?)
Conclusion (if there be one in leftist propaganda): absent a balance between killing northern and southern kine, the earth will split apart at the Panama Canal. North America will lean over and sink like Guam. Souther America? who cares, anyway? We’re progressives!
or something like that. I need to check my Public Screwall HS Science class notes to be sure. But, alas, I think I burned them for heat when the progressives outlawed gas for my furnace
And unsurprisingly, the ‘true conservatives’ libertarians of FR continue to gaslight how great anti-Trump, dem agenda siding massie and rand paul are...
And completely ignore, for example, how joy behar endorses and considers massie to be someone who will help the democrat and far left agenda...
Yes, one can already buy beef on the hoof for yourself. But do a search of pics of cattle lots. There aren’t enough locals to make a dent. And not enough local processors. And not enough truckers willing to haul one critter at a time.
Massie raises cattle himself. And he built his house and lives off the grid. It is a lifestyle, hardly a livlihood.
It is not a pattern to feed the whole country.
A bit about Massie’s operation, wherein he reminds me of Festus from Gunsmoke, lol.

Funny...I don’t hear Massie complaining about the other commodities we get from other countries. Also, Argentinian beef is good stuff. What a dork.
America First
I can only say this as a consumer. The price of beef is thru the roof and out of my price range.
The cheapest frozen ground beef at Walmart is $6 a pound. Angus chuck roast, $11 a pound. Rib eye steak $25 a pound.
That’s more than I can afford.
I’m not complaining, that’s the way it is. I don’t know what the price of beef SHOULD be, but it is more than I can afford.
I do respect President Trump trying to help us get cheaper meat.
Meanwhile, my same Walmart has frozen turkeys on sale, 84 cents a pound. I bought two. I’ll probably buy more at this price. I’ll cook and freeze the parts.
Does this fellow not know that farmers can sell directly to consumers now?
I’m no expert but I’m sure he knows what current arrangements are
It’s astronomical in my parts too. I eat chicken instead
We have farmers in N GA doing that now.
It’s the fertile soil of the Pampas. Gauchos.
Likely beef prices will come down as we deport more illegals and get some folks off SNAP.
Supply and demand.
I'm not following your logic. Could you explain further?
For all those saying farm to table is an option, I’m not seeing it.
I’ve been to dozens of websites, many no longer selling, and those few that are are selling at higher prices per pound than Walmart, if available. Otherwise, you go on the list for a portion of a cow.
To help US cattle ranchers, 47 decides to flood the market with cheap foreign beef.
