Same thing happened to me, especially if I have VPN or ad blockers on. I moved to StartPage.com.
captcha, or reCAPTCHA [the Goolag product]?
Sometimes I get that when it takes too long to load data- I live in an area where the internet connection is frequently slow. When I get the captcha request, I open another window and close the one that wants to verify me. Works okay that way.
If you are using a VPN, this is a regular occurrence...
I use the Brave browser on Win 11 and my searches default to using Brave.
Same here. It’s a pain in the a$$.................
ping
There’s another system that I’ve started running into that is worse. It’s hold down the mouse button into the oval box turns green. But instead of letting you in the site, you have to repeat the process in an endless loop. I usually decide I don’t need to go to that site anyway and give up.
Stupidest thing I’ve run across on the internet. Walmart product search had it for a while. It seems to have gone away, maybe they fired the exec that approved it.
Running CCleaner and clearing history is the reason. When you authenticate, a cookie is placed on your computer so it knows you passed authentication. When you run CC and clear history, you delete the cookie, so it runs you thru it again.
I do a lot of searching.
Google has locked me out twice.
I’m using DuckDuckGo.
There's your problem. Brave search, duckduckgo, perplexity.ai
Anything but google/cia
Happens with a VPN quite often.
Stop using Google search and replace with DuckDuckGo. If this resolves the problem, you’ll know Google search is the problem and not your Win10 or 11 Operating System.
Step one: switch your browser to Brave and its search engine. Google is evil. I doubt brave is conservative but they seem almost neutral
Is your computer on?
I’ve found a “verifying you’re human” popup intermittently when I do a short series of Brave searches.
Switch to Firefox browser or similar, use DuckDuckgo as your search engine. Don’t use Google for anything unless it’s a last resort. All those problems should disappear.
I sometimes use the Brave browser. When queries to its default search (and Leo) are sent too rapidly, it does indeed pop up a time-consuming captcha.
My solution has been to use a different (DDG) browser or clear the Brave browser history.
