You knew something was off with the police response regarding this fiasco last July. In Cincinnati, Ohio, Police Chief Terri Theetge scolded the media for posting and reporting on a vicious assault on a white couple. The woman was knocked out cold, her face bloodied as she lay on the pavement. It was another case of what if the races were reversed, but Chief Theetge seemed more upset that some outlets were doing their job regarding this story instead of, I don’t know, suppressing it.
That was the least of it.
There’s been a lawsuit filed by Cincinnati police officers, accusing the department of workplace discrimination against white males. So, with that development, it’s no shock that the chief was placed on administrative leave for basically being an ineffective leader.

“and where is that?”
I was kidding, and it brings to mind Val Demmings, who was at one time Orlando’s police chief for a couple of years. She had her revolver stolen out of her squad car. Then she quit and got elected to congress. She was a hack and lost her next election. At one time she was the Orlando police chief and her husband Gerry Demmings was Orange County Sherriff at the same time. He is termed out next year as Orange County Commisioner and it looks like he is going to run for Florida governor. A little off topic. Oops.
In West Virginia, your half brother is also your father and your uncle.
Thanks. Yes, it now makes sense.
The ponytail patrol is useless.
and the wife of your half brothers father is also his sister....
The North Koreans could help with that, they’re good at that sort of thing. And need the export cash.
Girls run lots of police departments and it’s working out great so shut up!
.....and where is that?

How about Anne Kirkpatrick in New Orleans? She was the brilliant one that didn’t use the sidewalk barriers which allowed for the New Years Eve car / truck slaughter (14 dead) on Bourbon Street. Prior to that she failed in Oakland, CA
Actually, it is a two way street.
Sarcasm depends on the skill or frothiness of the deliverer composing the sarcasm, but also on the recognition that sarcasm is being deployed, and part of that is dependent on the recipient being astute enough to recognize the sarcasm.
When I saw it, I read that wholly as sarcasm. Obviously some people didn’t get it, and I thought subterfuge was gracious enough to acknowledge it in a simple and civil way to someone who didn’t pick up.
And it is easy to miss when you don’t see the facial expressions or rolling of eyes that you won’t see on an Internet forum.
Freeper subterfuge said simply at post #8 “Yes, sorry” which was fine.
Some people aren’t as gracious, they get all snarky and upset at having to explain it to someone who perhaps under different conditions might have got the sarcasm.
And to be fair, not all of us get sarcasm, even obvious sarcasm, all the time. If you are in the wrong state of mind, or haven’t had your covfefe yet, it is easy to miss.
What did you say? You must pay for your insolence and sarcasm!"
LOL
What is with refs absolute flood of female police chiefs?
Most girls shouldn't be cops. But because they are cops, and most of them shouldn't be cops, they have to promote them anyway. So shut up! LOL!!!!
Never use sarcasm tags ... the people who don’t get it will never get it.
And half of them are grandmas. It’s unreal…totally de-balls police departments and crime exploded.
In West Virginia, that's illegal. Massachusetts is perfectly fine with it ...
“Papers”.
TALK TO THE HAND!
Yeah, that dyke in Minneapolis sure worked out well. Lol!
I sometimes wonder if historians will
use free republic as an example of
conservatives in the first half of the
21st century.

I would always use the sarcasm tag.
But I over analyze stuff.
Of course...I completely get that. I don’t think you are over-analyzing it at all.
Even with the missing cues, these communications can still be intentionally and unintentionally misunderstood. People all are susceptible to unintentional understanding. It is why people discuss, admire, and excoriate various communication skills.
But there are people who view communications as something to intentionally bend, fold, spindle and mutilate. They always have.
And they are, and always will. Blatantly.
For example, before the November 2024 election, my Republican Town Committee was doing a corner standout in favor of Trump in one of the bluest communities in one of the bluest states in the union.
We got a lot of verbal abuse (and more honks and thumbs-up than you might expect) and one guy pulled up and began haranguing us, calling us Nazis and such, and I had enough and walked up and said sarcastically “Oh sure. I’m a Nazi. We’re all Nazis here.”
Now, observing it and listening to the tone of my voice, you would never think I was saying in a tone of proud ownership: “Oh sure. I’m a Nazi. We’re all Nazis here.”
It was apparent.
But there are people today, and in the future who would, with a straight face report to the world: “When I confronted the conservatives, one of them freely admitted they were Nazis.”
And we all know that Leftists proudly write history not as it was, but as it suits their political needs and agendas.
So there isn’t any way of getting around that.
