Amid a wave of U.S. military strikes in the Caribbean and plans for covert operations in Venezuela, Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va., is leading a bipartisan effort to force a vote to stop President Trump from unilaterally declaring war on the South American nation.
Kaine, a longtime proponent of Congress' powers to declare war, filed the resolution late Thursday, a move that will force the Senate to take up the legislation after a 10-day waiting period. Sens. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., and Rand Paul, R-Ky., co-sponsored the plan.
Kaine said concerns about war in the Latin American region are growing.
"The pace of the announcements, the authorization of covert activities and the military planning makes me think there's some chance this could be imminent," Kaine told reporters.

It is the Military Industrial Complex. Trump is about to end the two major markets for their products. So they have to create a new market. No way are they ever going allow NO markets... So they are doing what they have always done. Send in the CIA and start a war and new market for their products.

The war was already started, albeit unofficially, by Maduro by sending millions of dollars worth of lethal, addictive drugs to the US, along with Venezuela’s worst killers and criminals, and gang members. The CIA was there to gather intel on those unofficial war activities against the USA. But congrats on sounding more like friends of Maduro and America’s enemy without than a pro-America patriot. Really stupid question since... anybody that knows my political stance here, by now, knows that I detest the globalists/communists and Democrats with every fiber of my soul. Also stupid since I have NEVER defended them. You are either suffering from severe reading comprehension disability... or an even more severe inability to interpret what you have read.
And once again, you do not know how it works. They do not work for Trump, Trump is working for them to further their goals and doesn’t even know it.
And this one is dangerous. This one is going to bolster Venezuela’s power in the region not diminish it. This one is going to make Venezuela a nuclear power right in our back pocket.
This one is dumb. And from the beginning it never was about drugs at all... Drugs was just the BS cover excuse to go invade another country. Invading Venezuela was the true goal in the first place.
And it is a mistake and we are going to be sorry if we do.
That may be part of the strategy. The “leak” puts pressure on the Maduro government. They can’t ignore it they have to react in some way. It also encourages the opposition which just got a Nobel Peace prize. The recipient dedicates it to Trump. More interesting pressure!
International conflict isn’t just fleets, soldiers & planes it’s information warfare. Modernizing Clauswitz diplomacy by other other means!
