Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) was caught on camera taking a nasty tumble in the hallway of a Senate office building Thursday.
The 83-year-old, who was en route to the Capitol for votes, grabbed at an aide’s arm seconds before he went down.
McConnell, who announced in February that he would not seek another term next year, was quickly helped to his feet by the aide and a guard.

He seems determined to die there.
To: V_TWIN
I guess he is following all the other Senators who stay so long they die in office.

Reason #1,000,001 that people over 80 should consider retiring from Congress. There may be a rare exception of someone that old who is making a difference (Trump comes to mind) but for McConnell and Pelosi to just hang on for the sake of hanging on is ridiculous.

Nothing against the man, but gathering from my own experience I’d say he would have best retired sooner.

I agree, but you have to convince (or blame) their constituents.

They have to stay in office. That’s where the best healthcare is. They don’t want to have to retire and have Obamacare ‘take care of them’. When their usefulness has ended so will they. Just like the Communist politicians.

The only Senator over 80 who seems to still have his marbles is Chuck Grassley. It looks like McConnell is going the way of Diane Feinstein and Strom Thurmond.
To: oldtech
He should have retired a few years ago when he was freezing up. Not a good sign.

Don’t forget San Fran Nan .
She was snarling like a rabid chihuahua at a reporter the other day.
She’s another one, the next fall could be fatal.

If he falls on his back he has to be righted.

When you hit a certain age, you really ought to consider using a cane. It doesn’t have to be an “old man” one. Pick something stylish.
