Checking In On The Climate: Here Are A Few Facts
Issues & Insights ^ | 14 Oct, 2025 | I & I Editorial Board

Global warming hysteria has been cooling off. But it’s not cold-on-the-slab dead yet. So it’s important to continue to roll out the reality. If we don’t, the zealots will rearm and flood the zone with their mendacious narrative.

From various sources, here is an update on the facts and the fiction:

- Summers are still summer in America – hot, but not as hot as the climatistas want us to believe they are. University of Alabama in Huntsville climate researcher Roy Spencer, who keeps up with this sort of thing, tells us summer’s hottest days in the U.S. “Have Barely Warmed in the Last 40 Years.” He continues: “Of course, you would never know this based upon media reports … in fact, most people are probably under the impression that our hottest days are rapidly getting hotter.”

- A month ago, the New York Times reported, citing “scientists,” that “Severe heat this summer killed three times as many people in European cities as would have died had humans not warmed the planet by burning fossil fuels.” Is that right? No, it’s not, says a fact-check service provided by a consortium of policy groups. These are not real mortality figures.” The Times “admits that these figures from Dr. Malcolm Mistry, a professor at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, are derived from the modeling of mortality trends in 854 European cities, not observational data, which the Times says ‘[a]re not yet widely available.’ Thus, they are attempting to pass a claim off as established fact without supporting evidence.”

- The claims that man-made global warming is causing island nations to sink into the sea won’t go away. They should. H. Sterling Burnett of the Heartland Institute notes that even with “modest sea level rise,” the island nations that are supposedly drowning “have increased in size, population, and prosperity amid modest climate change.” There’s simply “no real data (that) shows that the oceans are about to swamp these countries.”

- The alarmists have warned for decades that global warming was going to cause bigger and badder storms, including, according to federal functionaries, an “above-normal 2025 Atlantic hurricane season.” Except – “no hurricanes made landfall in the United States” in September, says meteorologist Anthony Watts. It was “the first time that’s happened in a decade.”

- Solar farms are supposed to be keys to saving us from global warming, yet they raise nighttime air temperatures from 5 to 7 degrees (3 to 4 Celsius) Fahrenheit. Shouldn’t someone say something about this?

- Here’s a point we’ve been making for decades from Substacker Ignominious: “In 1875 very few sensors were placed in very few areas. We have extremely limited data for the first 100 years (1850-1950) so temperature comparisons are unreliable.” He also mentions that “temperature is local and changes acre to acre and block to block due to elevation, wind, rain, and land type. Precise worldwide temperature cannot be known.”

We could go on. And we will. Because there is so much to debunk, so many “facts” that need to be untwisted, so much “truth” that just isn’t so.

The issue is never the real issue. The real issue is always the revolution.

The National Weather Service has been taking temperatures at airports for a long time. The temperatures there are much warmer with all of that cement, tarmac and buildings on a typical airport than just a few miles a way. Inflated? You bet.

I wonder how the students who confronted Feinstein are doing. The ones pushed by the teacher that the Senator WILL vote for the Green New Deal to prevent everyone from dying in ten years. The students were almost hysterical IIRC and the teacher stepped up to give her opinion - it was very clear whose agenda it actually was.

We are all after the truth on this subject, so I asked Google AI the following question: “Is climate change man made?”

The answer: “There is an overwhelming scientific consensus that human activities are the primary cause of climate change. While the Earth’s climate has changed naturally throughout history, the rapid warming observed since the mid-20th century is attributed to human actions, primarily the burning of fossil fuels.”

If Google says it, then it must be fact. /s/

I must add to my above comment. This Google response is proof AI is just as corruptible as the human mind.

AI’s value can range from very good, to OK, to very dangerous.

I recall a few years ago that Phoenix was the subject of hysterical news—Phoenix, known to be the hottest city in North America, had a July that was even hotter than usual. Their weather station is situated on the grounds of Sky Harbor Airport, which is also well within the Phoenix heat island, which has grown tremendously in size the last thirty years, by which comparisons were made. Of course the heat dome moved on in due course, and nobody has seen or heard about it since. But the media had their story for awhile.

Ask google to compile all of the counter evidence that shows that man is not to blame, and give you a report summary, then ask google why the scietific evidence put out by credible sciet8ntists who doubt man czused climate cha ge gets ignored, while thw lie that “an overhwelming consensus think that man is almost entirely to blame for global warming” is touted when clearly they are not an “overwhelmi g co sensus of scientists.

The fact is, more scientists doubted man was to blame than there wwre thoae who claim we are!

"The temperatures there are much warmer with all of that cement, tarmac and buildings on a typical airport than just a few miles a way. Inflated? You bet."

Not to mention the large vehicles blasting the area with jet engine exhaust every 1.5-2 minutes, as well as while they're taxiing to and from gates.

Th3 “consensus of scientists” (ie, the few scientists in the ipcc) were taking readings fro. Parking lots, on bui, dings next to air condition8ng units which produce z lot of heat, and in various hot zones arou d the world

What’s more, when satelite r3cords did not support the lie that the earth was warming “faster than ever”, ehat did noa do? They cla8jed one of their satelites was “not position3d corr3ctly” and they issued new numbers based on what they THOUGHT the numbers should be, “IF it were” “in the righ5 spot”, and viola, there’s the numbers to support the lie! So “man once agai. Responsible for climate change... the data proves it”

Scientists in the ipcc who tried to counter the lie were threatened with loss of their jobs and ostracising if they spoke out, and those that did were discredit3d by u scroupu, ous ipcc panel and their voices were stifled.

“Man-caused climate change” is one of the greatest scams ever devised by the evil one and his liberal lackeys

This is a matter of resolution in temperature measurement. When the change in average temperature produces obvious differences in atmospheric conditions over decades one can infer that there has been a climate change. Hence, the accounts of the Thames or European ports icing over are relevant. I have extracted explorer accounts from between 1602 and 1800 for California, thus indicative of the temperature changes in the Pacific Ocean, which one would think would be relevant (see p19 of this file).

Some years back the VAWA groups were citing that domestic violence spiked on Super Bowl Sunday. It was repeated at seminars on DV. Finally, someone researched it to locate the first mention. Yeah, all made up. Bullshit artist with degrees in humanities.

Bob, quit touching the numbers when you type. Always good points but slow to be read.
