New Zealand's parliament was brought to a blood-curdling halt after one of its newly elected MPs burst into the traditional Maori haka dance - causing the session to be suspended.
Oriini Kaipara, 42, of the left-wing Te Pati Maori party, had just finished delivering her maiden speech to the House of Representatives when the chamber erupted into a war-like scene of screaming and stamping on Thursday.
The former newsreader-turned-politician was elected to parliament in September to fill a vacant seat, and members of the House burst into song to celebrate her arrival before she herself joined in.
Speaker of the House, Gerry Brownlee, asked MPs to stop after they burst into the haka because politicians in New Zealand must be granted permission if they - or their supporters - wish to sing or perform the dance in the public gallery.
The footage shows Ms Kaipara, who is 100 per cent Maori and adorns a Tā moko facial tattoo beneath her lips, facing down Mr Brownlee with her eyes bulging as the chamber breaks into the thumping movement.
Mr Brownlee can be heard pleading 'No! Not that', as he gesticulates to the gallery adding: 'The guarantee was that would not be taking place'.
As the haka grows louder in the chamber, the Speaker suspends the House before quickly exiting from his seat - with some other MPs seemingly following.
While the parliament later resumed proceedings, Mr Brownlee said he would be launching a probe into whether any party or MPs had prior knowledge of the haka as he described the gallery's actions as contemptuous.

Good description.
My daughter and friend cruised around Australia and it’s islands, New Zealand too. They travel a lot but enjoyed this cruise more than anything. Especially New Zealand, where they had the most fun. They would would have laughed their dainty ladylike @sses off at this kook.
More threats of leftist violence.
Seeing people do this just makes me cringe every time. It’s some sort of warrior tough-man dance that’s supposed to intimidate the enemy. 😂
Well there you go. Thanks for providing. It’s the second half that demonstrates the overthrow of the legislature by the Māori. They’re doomed
So Bob Fosse stole his “jazz hands” dance bit from the Maoris. Very little in the world is original - just borrowed and built upon.
But amusement aside, that flash mob stuff has no place in parliamentary procedure. They’re only further alienating themselves from the comparatively civilized majority.
Speaking of Muslims in Western societies...
Lets hope that the Maori don’t go full tribal.
The Maori were formerly known to be cannibals.
Some of the idiot whites in the galleries seemed to be joining in the “haka war dance.” Useful idiots.
They are the “allies”, the same useful white idiots that cheer BLM here.
Whites have guilted themselves into committing suicide.
“Jacinda confiscated guns in NZ”
Also forced the CCP WHO approved Fauci experimental gene therapy upon them all. She is off working for the WEF now.
They always get rewarded when they do a good job for their anti-Christ stormtroopers attempting to rise that spirit up to its full power over the Earth.
I don’t think I made it clear enough but I’m rooting for the Maori. NZ is gone.
Good news for the Maori—it should be quite a feast after they chop off the heads of the dumb whiteys who live there.
They’v e already had a muzzie PM. She was instrumental in disarming them.
Bwahaha!! She goes full Pelosi!!
This is probably what Kamala looked likd on election night.
She looks like Kamala 20 years ago.
The extreme violent side. Expect our libs to devise some way to group protest like this and interrupt the proceedings. Our reps dont have the guts to do this. They can only coordinate dress color or foreign multicultural virtue signal.
This woman had “cannable’ on her application but they just laughed.
Oh, Heyyyyy Macarena!
