Psychology researcher Stephen Reysen and colleagues at Texas A&M University have proposed the concept of Global Citizenship, measuring whether an individual feels socially, politically, environmentally, and economically connected to all communities on a worldwide scale. Though endorsed by the United Nations, this concept is generally more popular with the left, while right-wingers more frequently believe Global Citizenship to be a front for progressivism or socialism.
