I was just thinking what a nightmare that must have been for her.
I used to meet Teddy regularly when he came to Western MA. He would shoot some interview shows in a studio attached to my office. So we had to go to the lobby and meet his fat ass every six weeks or so.
There wasn’t a time when I met him that he didn’t look hung over.
Victoria Reggie was his wife when he died and she still Ambassador to Austria?
Rest in Peace, Joan.......................
My reading suggests that was pretty much SOP for him
I suspect she left that post long ago.
PN55-19 - Arthur Fisher, of North Carolina, to be Ambassador to the Republic of Austria was one of the nominees approved yesterday.
Somebody is going to be busy swearing the 107 appointees.
I saw Teddy once, way back in ‘62 when he was stumping for Dems, at the J.M. Fields department store in Stratford, NJ. I was eight, and at the back of the crowd with my bicycle, so I can’t say I observed much. RIP Joan.
They dragged Joan out publicly to showcase as the loyal, supporting wife during Chappaquiddick; it must have been humiliating.
She left the ambassador post on January 20 of this year. The office is currently vacant.

My Dad used to travel a lot to the western US. Sometimes he couldn’t get a decent flight out to be back east for Friday night and had to wait until Saturday.
On this particular trip, from Phoenix, he had to wait until early Sunday morning for the flight. He arrived early at the terminal....maybe 630-700 am and sat down and waited for his 8 o’clock flight. He was seated in an area before you headed down the concourse to the gates.
As he was waiting, he noticed these three men walking from the gates up the concourse. They were walking very close together, which he found odd. As they got closer, he noticed the two guys on the outside of the three were holding up the dude in the middle as he was having trouble walking.
Then they got close enough, and my Dad recognized Kennedy as the guy in the middle, and he was completely shit-faced before 8 in the morning.
I wonder if her estate will release notes about his murdering the girl.
She’s had enough feeding off the government trough.
She was probably thinking "There but for the Grace of God, go I".
At least she lived 89 years. Give her credit for that. That’s a dozen more than Ted.
She was a beautiful lady....had to fight (coverup) not only for the Kennedys but the demons of alcohol..RIP pretty lady..
That poor suffering woman.
Maybe Joan and MaryJo can compare notes?
Rest in piss, Teddy.
And, madam Beauvais was as far away as possible.
Methinks she knew what she was getting into.
Women like that only get upset when their husband's philandering becomes public and makes THEM look bad.
