A Missouri man was found dead from a likely bear attack this week, just two days after he sent photos to his family of a bear at his campsite in Arkansas, according to officials.
Police found the 60-year-old man’s body several hundred yards from his campsite near Mt. Judea, Arkansas, on Thursday. The area showed signs of a struggle and had drag marks away from the camp.
The man's son had asked for a welfare check because his dad hadn’t checked in for a couple of days since sending the photos. His body has "extensive" injuries "consistent with those expected from a large carnivore attack," the Newton County Sheriff’s Department said in a release.

Obviously he watched too many of those YouTube videos of bears acting all cutesy.
Which is why bears make those videos - to lull humans into a false sense of security.
Heh, heh. Crafty creatures.
Possible Darwin Award?

AR has a hunting season on them.
Being armed is a good idea.
Small bears carry bear spray? Who knew
How do you reach that conclusion based on this article?
I’m going mule deer hunting in bear country today.
Everyone carries a sidearm. There are bear, cougar, wolves, coyote, wild dogs and crazy people.
My 9mm is loaded with the first 6 rounds of Buffalo Bore Hardcast, which has been known to drill a hole from stem to stern of black bear. Not enough for grizzly, but I need the 16+1, 16, and 13 plus my rifle to take care of a wolf pack.
Didn’t know bears carried spray.
But skunks do.
My bear spray is a Ruger Redhawk 44 magnum which I carry with me whenever I go hiking. I’m confident it will be effective.
In all seriousness, prayers to the family.
the biggest I have is a .357 Magnum. That goes with me into bear country on the infrequent occasions I camp out west.
Black bears in the east are nothing but big rodents and don’t really need extreme measures.
Blacks and grizzly’s are a completely different story.
