A SIKH GRANDMOTHER who had lived in the U.S. for more than 30 years has been deported to New Delhi, India, after spending a week in what her attorney called “barbaric” conditions at a private ICE detention center in Georgia.
“There was no rationale to detain Bibi Harjit Kaur,” Deepak Ahluwalia, Kaur’s attorney, told American Community Media in a Sept. 24 interview. “It’s all part of their effort to fill beds.”
“Her detention was nothing short of barbaric,” said Ahluwalia. “That type of treatment would affect most people. They chose to do this to a 73-year-old woman with disabilities and health issues.”
The elderly woman was initially taken to a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention center in Bakersfield and then transferred to the Stewart Detention Center in Lumpkin, Georgia. Neither her family nor Ahluwalia was informed of the transfer.

No water, harsh conditions
Kaur was not given water to take her medications, according to Ahluwalia. When she asked for water, she was given a plate of ice instead, which she could not chew because of her dentures. In Lumpkin, Kaur was forced to sleep on the floor in a crowded detention facility; she could not easily get up from the floor, as she had surgery on both knees. The strict vegetarian got only meat-based meals for her first six days in detention. She was handcuffed numerous times during transfers.

Back in the 80’s a student I was in classes with married an Indian man from England. He brought his entire family here - about 6 others - and had to sign something saying that he would sponsor them and they wouldn’t get welfare or something like that. She confided in me that the first thing they did was to sign up for welfare. His sisters all got braces that WE paid for and they DID get every single benefit they could. AND they had family money that they didn’t disclose - they were actually quite wealthy but STOLE from us.
Truth, justice and The American Way!
“The American Dream” is no longer for our children and our following generation.
The Democrats (whose official policy is “Hate, Violence and Murder) have decided that The American Dream is reserved for the rest of the world.
Us fat and lazy have given it up to the global community.
Push back Americans.
Ask the Democrats to define “The American Dream”.
How many times do I have to say this, “I don’t care!”
I don’t care about your familial relations.
I don’t care how LONG you have been a law breaker.
I don’t care that you got a free flight home.
I DO care that the laws of our country are followed and applied equally, equitably, fairly for all, unfairly to none.
Bye.
Only 20-30 million more to go.
And why is she not naturalized?
I’d love to see a breakdown of how much money the illegally present person sucked out of this country.
What’s the point of the story?
I guess, this asshat reporter wants us to consider, consider mind you, that it might be wrong to deport someone who has been here forever.
I know a Mexican family. They’re living out somewhere in the. country. They clean houses for people, and caretake the farm they’re on. I don’t know their names, I only know the minister who has them living on their land.
I’ve known of this for going on 16 years now.
Eventually, if now already, they will be discovered and sent back I guess.
And some local reporter will write an article saying how wrong it is.
I hate the media.
Because she was probably here illegally, so until her papers were in order, she could never be naturalized. She’d have had to go to the back of the line like everyone else who goes through the proper channels.
end birth right citizenship unless the parents are both U.S. citizens or one is active duty military.
otoh, you should do well in india, you speak 2 languages, you could open a restaurant or phone call center.
Who gets her parking space?
by the many arms of Vishnoo, 30 years was too long
>> Gee, I wonder if there is a little bit more to this story than what this silly article is bothering to tell people.
“Anecdotal Journalism”. Get ready for a tsunami of it.
*** He brought his entire family here - about 6 others - and had to sign something saying that he would sponsor them and they wouldn’t get welfare or something like that.***
Those are the same conditions that my grandparents and my husband’s grandfather had to sign when they were coming to the U.S.
None of them ever had welfare.
When I was growing up, “welfare” was like a dirty word. You worked multiple jobs to keep food on the table, if that’s what it took.
If she was employed, did she make required contributions and tax payments to Social Security, Medicare, and the IRS?
The fake media is Dem fan fiction. They lie by omission and commission constantly.
just saying,
if youre here living under the radar,
youre playing a game of cat and mouse with people who wont quit, or listen to your sob story.
>> What’s the point of the story?
Pure propaganda, working to manipulate your soul (mind + emotions + will)
Like all anecdotal journalism, the point of the story is to get your MIND off of the facts of the problem (we’re overrun by illegal immigrants!) by playing to your EMOTIONS. The goal is to affect your WILL to take the action the propagandist desired (hate ICE, vote democrat, etc.)
It’s evil.

Y’all crack me up! And laughing our a** off is EXACTLY the RIGHT response to this agitprop!
When I went out on my own at the age of 18, I worked min wage jobs to make ends meet. I have been cold, hungry and without and it made me more determined to do better. That attitude has been removed with the ease of welfare. Kicking these parasites out is a good start.
Remaining in India past the expiry date of a valid visa, even for a single day, is a criminal offense under the Indian Foreigners Act of 1946. The legal consequences can be severe.
Overstaying is a criminal matter, not just a fineable offense.
Crucial Advice: If a visa is expired, the most important step is to immediately contact the nearest FRRO office to begin the process for the Exit Permit.
