A Florida city councilman is facing growing bipartisan calls for his removal after posting inflammatory comments about Indian Americans on social media and then doubling down on his remarks, triggering outrage from fellow Republicans, state legislators, and community members.
Palm Bay City Councilman Chandler Langevin wrote on X.com about people who are from India, accusing those living in the country of exploiting the United States, according to Click Orlando. His posts, which called for the deportation of all Indians and a halt to migration from India, have been widely condemned as racist.
Langevin stated last week on X: “There’s not a single Indian that cares about the United States. They are here to exploit us financially and enrich themselves.”
The posts calling for all Indians to be deported and attacking the Indian American community prompted immediate backlash, according to WESH 2 reporter Megan Moriarty. Rather than walking back his comments, Langevin has since doubled down on them.
Space Coast Daily reported that Langevin has claimed that fellow Republicans issued “copy-paste” statements in support of Indian Americans only because he had spoken out against migration. In a follow-up comment, he said that diversity is “not our strength” and criticized those emphasizing inclusion.

Deport both groups.
Bull crap. US citizens don’t hire STEM workers directly:
I think you should take your semantic argument and stuff it.
The caste system of our imported Indian tech overlords is the height of racism.
I repeat myself the h-1b visa is for WHITE COLLAR employment. Almost all require a degree.
God has blessed me with imbecilic enemies.
So, I'm going bankrupt because I can hardly get interviews, and get rejected with no reason given the few times I get interviews, in a statistically-impossible situation where EVERY SINGLE INTERVIEW just happened to be done by an Indian immigrant. (Obvious by accent.)
This happens no matter what my previous career success was.
And because of noticing this…
…you want to call me anti-semitic, too!
Look you obviously have a bias, because an Indian married into your family. You know what? I used to have great relationships with Indians, going to their weddings, even dating one.
That was decades ago, before they invaded en-masse. Before they brought all the horrible aspects of the Indian culture - which includes a METRIC SHIT TON of racism, nepotism, and corruption - over here to their now Indian dominated towns and companies.
I get it, you're a virtue signaler. So virtuous, you. On behalf of myself and the many Americans forced out of good careers in engineering and software, KISS MY AMERICAN AND ALMOST BANKRUPT @$$!
Oh, you hire degreed STEM workers?
Your optho was an h-1b import.
Hopefully we can stop importing Indian STEM and doctors. It’s not like there are no sick people in India.
The previous imports weren’t taking jobs and causing US workers hardship. Back then US workers weren’t training their replacements. It’s a zero sum game now. Also the imports 100 years ago WERE.NOT INDENTURED SERVANTS. DO YOU F’G GET THAT? Are you GD daft?
Love your post.
My optho is a 3rd generation citizen.
Your presumption is noted.
If you’re losing opportunities because immigrants are smarter and work harder, look in the mirror for the problem.
Brevard County, like much of Central and South Florida, has tons of Indian-American CITIZENS. Get used to losing.
“The previous imports weren’t taking jobs and causing US workers hardship.”
You skipped 11th grade history.
OF COURSE German and Irish workers were resented by native Americans as job thieves.
There was even a national political party, the American Party, a/k/a the Know-Nothings, whose entire focus was against Irish immigration. And that was in EIGHTEEN FIFTY.
So why did you bring it up then?
The immigrants of the 19th century WERE NOT CONTACTED INDENTURED SERVANTS. The h-1b visa wage slaves are indentured and if they complain they are sent home. The can’t look for higher paying jobs.
Do you see the difference or are you plain stupid? By the mid 19th century none were indentured to their employers. Did you fail US history?
It’s hard to compete with wage slave contracted labor. On e again I ask are you of Indian descent?
When this scum bucket say:
- "immigrants are smarter and work harder"
- "look in the mirror for the problem"
- "(their region) has tons of Indian-American CITIZENS. Get used to losing."
Well then, that's quite a 'tell'. One can't say for sure, but it sure matches the pattern I've seen other Indian bigots use to denigrate native-born Americans.
Miami_desi might be a better name. He is definitely a racist.
Hi, Yoss!
I won’t bother responding to your partner in crime, but for you I’ll share that the latest any of my European ancestors came to our shores was 1895, and nope, India isn’t part of Europe.
Your pal professes that he can’t even get an interview because Indians are taking all the jobs. He has the temerity to say:
“So, I’m going bankrupt because I can hardly get interviews, and get rejected with no reason given the few times I get interviews, in a statistically-impossible situation where EVERY SINGLE INTERVIEW just happened to be done by an Indian immigrant.”
Since the vast preponderance of H1-B jobs taken by Indian 𝙉𝙊𝙉-citizens are tech or medical, and since he betrays no particular qualification in those sectors, we can assume that a horde of Indian-Americans are crowding him out of non-H1-B work...at 7-11s?
He’s a poor sap who can’t get ahead in life and consoles himself that it’s foreigners working cheaper and harder who are squeezing him out. I guess he wants a DEI preference.
Sad, man, just sad.
To you, Yoss, I’ll point out yet again that every new wave of immigrants of every ethnicity, whether European or Asian, has faced hostility from native Americans whose ancestors arrived on a boat 20 or 30 years earlier. And those native Americans mouthed the same crap we’re hearing today: “Sure, there’s 𝒔𝒐𝒎𝒆 good ones, but most of them are clannish and stand-offish and talk funny.” Odds are your own grandparents or great-grandparents faced the hostility.
