Yep. Love them or hate them, I think the Cubs could have lasted more than five games and it would have been a better series. San Diego was nothing more than a speed bump for Detroit that year.
FWIW, we were newlyweds that year and my wife was rooting for San Diego since she was from Socal. But I loved her anyway!
