'There are no such things as sanctuaries' — Ukraine can conduct strikes deep within Russian territory, Kellogg says

Washington authorizes specific instances where Ukraine can carry out long-range strikes within Russia, U.S. Special Envoy to Ukraine Keith Kellogg said on Sept. 28 in an interview with Fox News.

"The answer is yes, use the ability to hit deep, there are no such things as sanctuaries," Kellogg replied when asked if it is U.S. President Donald Trump's position that Ukraine can conduct long-range strikes.

The final decision on whether Ukraine may conduct long-range strikes within Russia falls to Trump on a case-by-case basis, Kellogg noted.

As Ukraine develops long-range missiles and drones of its own, Kyiv continues to rely on weapons provided by its allies to conduct such strikes, which often require authorization from the country supplying the missiles.

As the U.S. allows Ukraine to conduct strikes deep within Russia, Washington is looking into providing Kyiv with additional weapons.

"That is one of the reasons I believe that this last week, and it has been confirmed, that President Zelensky asked President Trump to give Tomahawk missiles," Kellogg said, adding that the final decision has not yet been made.

As Russia continues to press along the front line with little progress and high losses, Kellogg noted that Moscow is not meeting its goals as it wages its war against Ukraine.

"Russia is not winning this war. If they (were) winning, they would be in Kyiv, Odesa, they would be over the Dnipro river," he said.

Dear FRiends, Our FReepathon is our next concern. We still need to raise approximately $2.6k before the end of the month to meet our goal! And I think we’re gonna need a little prayer here. Thank you very much and God bless you.

What do you think is happening here?

Sounds like loose talk.

The topic, though, is pretty much deadly serious. Not safe to freely troll.

Almost like a diplomatic non sequitur.

When will this stupidity end?

Boom goes London, Boom Parie, More room for you and more room for me. They all hate us anyhow, lets drop the big one now.

As we rapidly approach Armageddon, the Zeepers here all in for unlimited nuclear war. The other day one said that he/she didn't thing the Russian nukes would work anyway. Just because they have had the H-Bomb since November 22, 1955 and spend 24 hours of every day and who knows how many $Billions improving their arsenal does not mean anything to these clowns.

Well I guess they want an all out and out war then. contrary to westerrn disinfo, Russia has never seeked to occupy all of the Ukraine. Even more people will be leaving the Ukraine then and going on permanent vacation in Europe. Of course some like those in the east will seek refuge in Russia.

The US almost always exerts usage limits on weapons it provides to other countries.

Does that make any war a US arms customer gets in to “our war”? I suppose it can be interpreted that way.

I am curious though, as to just exactly what “case-by-case actually means? Target by target? That seems ridiculous, unless the target is something particularly “sensitive”, such as hitting a command ‘n control operation right next door to the Kremlin.

Type-by-type of target would make more sense, as in: “You can use Tomahawks to hit any Russian refinery distillation tower you want.” or “You can’t use US’ weapons to hit Russian shadow fleet ships in International Waters, or when loaded with oil or petroleum products.”
