United States President Donald Trump expressed on Thursday his disappointment with Russian President Vladimir Putin, regarding the lack of progress toward resolving the war in Ukraine.
"With all of the heavy bombardment over the last two weeks, they have gained almost no land. I'm not going to ever call anybody a paper tiger but Russia has spent millions and millions of dollars in bombs, missiles, ammunition and lives," Trump told journalists amid a bilateral meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the Oval Office.

I agree .
Putin the Evil KGB Butcher dictator
is cornered and his dream
of enslaving the east has failed .
I'm not. And I'm not a hypocrite either, demanding others send their sons to die in another UK Empire/Davos war on the continent.
” I’m not going to ever call anybody a paper tiger...”
Must be someone else who said that just a couple of days ago.
The Putin is exterminating the AFU [Armed Forces Ukraine].
After they're gone, Ukie territory will be The Putin's for the taking.
I had read somewhere recently that there were some suggestions related to shrinking the number of the number of general officers.
It would not hurt my feelings if he did that now.
War is chess on another level. Grandmasters often squeeze out wins after 60 or more moves, with only a single pawn of advantage. Positional play is critical.
A big problem for the secret police cabal that runs the Kremlin is the low quality of the personnel in their army in Ukraine.
I strongly suspect the Kremlin realizes they cannot achieve any more major territorial gains unless they mobilize. They need young, healthy, intelligent, motivated soldiers.
But if they mobilize there is a high risk it will be a political disaster for the regime, if they try to force a large number of ordinary Russians unwillingly into the meat-grinder in Ukraine.
On the other hand, if there were some event that changed the political feeling in Russia, such as a conflict with NATO that the Kremlin portrays as a threat to Russia, that might motivate young men to be willing to fight.
I think this may be why the Kremlin has been baiting NATO countries with drone and warplane incursions in NATO airspace. The Kremlin may believe NATO shooting down some Russian aircraft over the Baltics or Poland or Romania may spark more domestic support for the war in Ukraine which might support mobilization. I’m not sure they’re right about that, though.
LOL, We know the opposite is true. How much territory has Ukraine gotten back? Ukraine has lost millions too.
So LOL is fitting here.
The push is on to minimalize and it is obvious. I don’t care as long as we quit paying for it or sending troops.
I see the low intellect keyword crowd is at it again.
So sad that they can’t argue the point. But they know their limitations, so it’s all they have.
Trump may be disappointed in Putin but the Putinistas on free Republic sure aren’t.
Ukraine doesn’t have the manpower to defeat Russia without NATO troops on the ground. There’s no popular support among the EU or the US populace for this to go forward unless they try and fool us with some false flag attack. If this goes on to become a world war the EU would be forced to institute a draft. Attempting that would likely cause the fall of EU governments. Outside of special forces I doubt Trump will be sending US troops there either because much of MAGA would rebel against him. So Trump probably sees this as a negotiating tactic although I’m sure the neocons in his administration have other plans. Hopefully Trump resists them.
They’re not all getting together, are they?
Is there a source for this report? I see lots of second and third hand mentions.
“Even the general Russian populations has to be questioning Putin’s motives.”
***************************
Not true. Putin has 86% support for his actions in Ukraine.
“In June 2025, 86 percent of Russians approved of the activities of the Russian President Vladimir Putin. The popularity level was nine percentage points higher than in September 2022, when the figure declined following the announcement of a partial mobilization in the country. After Russia invaded Ukraine at the end of February 2022, the approval rating increased.”

Pretending Putin doesn’t have the full support of his people is just Western propaganda.
A long time ago my uncle Herman had a dog that just would not stop chasing cars.
The neighbors were complaining about it because they were worried he might jump under the wheels and get run over.
He went to town one day and on the way back he stopped and pulled off the baby moon hubcap on his left rear wheel and stuck a cotton feed sack on it and pushed the hubcap back on.
He drove slowly past his own house and the dog gave chase. The dog of course grabbed the sack and was sent spinning into the ditch.
The dog never chased a car again, he had discovered what it actually meant to not simply chase the car but to catch it!
-Putin is the car with the sack on the wheel
-The EU is the dog
-Trump is my uncle Herman
Trump has not gone mad and has not changed his mind about the EU’s chances against Russia. He simply has had his fill of the nonsense from both the EU and Zalinsky so he decided to use sarcasm and let them catch the car :-)
They will find out, it’s a shame it has come to this but it is obvious they cannot learn the lesson any other way.
I googled it and saw it mentioned by a few very recognizable news outlets.
Thanks!
I also see the NYT is reporting it.
marcus is great at checkers and Go Fish!
I’m very disappointed in marcusmaximus.
Did that hurt?
“Peace By Easter”.
