Will High Court Take a Look at FBI's Role in Whitmer Kidnapping Case?
RealClear Politics ^ | 23 Sep, 2025 | Julie Kelly

In the aftermath of Charlie Kirk’s assassination, the media and Democratic Party politicians have pointed to the 2020 scheme to abduct and assassinate Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer as evidence that political violence comes from both sides of the political spectrum.

News organizations routinely cite the plot in a timeline of recent incidents of political violence in this country; Whitmer herself mentioned the plan to “kidnap and kill me” in a video message posted on X last week while condemning Kirk’s murder.

But the two examples aren’t comparable, and not only because Gretchen Whitmer was never harmed – nor ever in any real danger. The big difference is that federal agents were involved in the very conceptualization of the plot against the governor – and in all the overt acts that led to criminal charges against an array of right-wing defendants.

The defendants’ lawyers believe – and they cite voluminous supporting evidence – that if the appeals in these cases ever reach the Supreme Court, the nine justices will learn details about one of the most brazen FBI entrapment operations in U.S. history. Moreover, the timing of the original arrests suggests to some government critics that the sting represents another instance of the FBI interfering in a presidential election to sabotage Donald Trump.

Arrests in the case produced shocking headlines just a few weeks before Election Day 2020 as early voting was underway in the crucial swing state of Michigan. Whitmer, Joe Biden, and Kamala Harris repeatedly raised the issue on the campaign trail; during a rally in Michigan on Oct. 16, 2020, Biden compared the Michigan group to ISIS and blamed Donald Trump for “fanning the flames of hatred.”

The high court hasn’t even looked into FISA fraud and Crossfire Hurricane, and democrat staffers under Obama used the court to commit crimes.

J6 was a FBI entrapment operation too. Why hasn’t Patel cleaned house? The FBI is filled with anti Trump agents.

The FBI is not going to investigate itself.

Andrew Bailey, former attorney general of Missouri and the first ever co-deputy director of the FBI, is a shadow replacement for Kash Patel. Jeanine Pirro, the recently appointed U.S. Attorney for DC, is a shadow replacement for Pam Bondi. Bailey and Pirro are waiting in the wings if and when President Trump dismisses Patel and Bondi, who are aware of the potential ax over their heads. If this fact does not motivate them into cracking down on Deep State players and Antifa terrorists, nothing will.

Yep. Trump just posted a truth telling Bondi to get going. Firing the embedded Obama/Holder/Biden hold overs who are sabotaging progress is a important first step.

Not so hasty, Julie Kelly. Whether federal agents or informants were involved in Kirk’s assassination remains to be seen.

How do you know that some of the furry/tranny/gamer chat room participants weren’t feds monitoring or egging things on? It would almost be odd if there weren’t any.

They could save a lot of time and effort if they just fired the whole bunch. maybe the whole justice dept. They don’t work for us.

How is the Trump administration going to muddle through 4 years without making an arrest?

A very wise old timer at work said that three things were required for excellent performance:

—Skills = Technical skills in management for managers

—Knowledge = Full mastery of all relevant facts

—Attitude = fanatical determination to do whatever it takes to get the job done right

If any one is missing fail is the certain outcome in any tough job.

Each Freeper can evaluate these three for Bondi and Kash—and see what they get.

Going after Antifa should be a super easy task for even the FBI.
The base of operations has been Portland, OR and Seattle, WA.
We have known this for 15 years and they have done a very poor job of hiding.
If there is zero action, we know the answer.

Patel and Bondi are different than all the other appointments in that they have a positive view of the organizations they oversee and that is a problem. Day one at the DOJ and FBI should have seen every single person give an account of the last 8 years followed by a purge of every one involved in a political investigation.

Good post—that is my view as well.

They should have treated the situation as a hostile corporate takeover.

Shut down divisions and fire lots of folks first.

At that point the rest of the group gets the message...there is a new boss in town and don’t mess with them.

There is always time to patch any holes that are created.
