An Illinois TV anchor has resigned from a local ABC-affiliated station after she said she was suspended for airing a tearjerking “non-partisan tribute” to her mentor, Charlie Kirk, following his assassination.
Beni Rae Harmony announced she was leaving WICS-ABC20 Springfield on Monday after she allegedly faced retaliation from the station for airing the emotional 1-minute and 17-second tribute on Friday.
“Many in the mainstream media have been fired or punished for mocking his assassination,” Harmony wrote on X.

It’s amazing to hear stories come out of the vile leftist state of Illinois, Chicago is the reason. As a Hoosier you can almost feel the evil emanating from it like waves of energy off a heat lamp. 3/4 of the state is actually quite conservative , the southern part.
This is par for the course with Illinois, not a year ago Dem state legislators there passed a law that requires references to a good % of the states prison population to use the term “justice impacted individuals” instead of offender or criminal.
So I’m not surprised a TV station in Illinois would suspend a reporter for offering some sort of tribute to Kirk.

I don’t think she will have a problem finding a new and much better job.
I have grown to loathe greater Chicago as the fondly remembered aspects of it disappeared one by one. The last time it was necessary for me to go through Chicago to get to the other side, I just couldn't make myself do it. I ended up going WAY around it, enduring the headaches that entails.
I now avoid Rockford and Freeport whenever possible as well.
Beni Rae Harmony, you deserve better than Springfield and WICS. Shake their dust from your feet.
