My dad was in Hospice in 2019, I remember walking by another room with an alarm sounding and it being ignored by the staff. When I brought it to their attention, they said the lady intentionally caused the alarm to go off.
The care facility had “nurse assistants” which I came to believe were minimum wage support used to watch over those on their death beds.
Children should take care of their parents, period.
Surely at least one of the kids have enough room in their McMansion to house their parents.
This raises things that should be evaluated when selecting a care facility — what measures and plans do they have to care for residents during emergencies? Do they have an emergency generator? Will patients be moved to a safe area?
This saddens me. When my uncles put my grandmother in the nursing home the last thing she said to me was, “I’m not staying here”. She died 2 or 3 days later. Farm lady her whole life. Free...
Whoever is responsible should be fired and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
Leaving the care of loved ones to strangers is not a good arrangement.
