“...great horned owl found entangled in a soccer net...”
What a noob!
“the golden snitch, during their first quidditch game of the year. It is unknown which house Keeper belongs to, however 50 points have been awarded to Gryffindor, as Dumbledor”
…snitch? Quidditch? Gryffindor? Dumbledor? This was in Texas USA?
Ha ha.
They’re magnificent birds. Effectively keeps the rodent population in check, too.
I have personal experience with these birds when a great horned owl raised a chick on the land where I was renting. We watched it grow up, and I watched in horror as it swooped down to scare away my cat who happened to be too close.
Heck, that was just a baby! We once untangled a full grown one out of a chicken-wire fence, and that was a challenge!
Birds are routinely captured for counts and banding in mist nets made with fairly large spacing from thin plastic thread. The owl tried to fly in the wrong direction and was ensnared in the net
OWLS & LIONS CANNOT MOVE THEIR EYES.
BOTH MUST MOVE THEIR HEADS TO SEE A DIFFERENT DIRECTION
Tastes kinda like spotted owl.
Thanks,DallasBiff!
PING to my sis who LOVES owls!
I sure do, Sis! And I’m so thankful that they were able to successfully rescue this great bird from the net. 🦉
