A recent survey of AI and labor data by a team of researchers at Stanford's Digital Economy Lab uncovered some of the first comprehensive evidence that the AI industry really is throwing the job market into flux. The scholars compiled three years of payroll records on millions of US workers at tens of thousands of businesses, allowing them to identify long-term trends according to jobs and age groups. Their first finding was a dramatic decline in employment for entry-level knowledge workers aged 22 to 25 years old, whose occupations are at the highest theoretical risk for automation — a metric called "AI exposure." These are workers in office gigs whose day-to-day tasks have a lot of crossover with AI functions, like software engineers, service workers, and marketing professionals.

Company where my wife works just laid off 4k, most all due AI takeover of those positions.
It will also kill the arts:
“Grok, write me a song in the style of John Lennon.”
Try that. The results will scare you.
“AI is going to cause a white collar job bloodbath in next 5-7 years. The ensuing recession will be blamed on Trump immigration and tariff policies.”
The WINNERS are those that know which end of a screwdriver to hold.
Then in a year or two, they will realize that AI wasn’t all it was cracked up to be, and they will scramble to hire people again.
AI is being misused, just to make more profits. There is no limit in the amount of work humans can do and we will never run out of work that needs to be done, so it is a mistake to use AI to eliminate human labour and not use it to enhance human effort.
At lower wages.
I think this in part is being done to pressure people into being part of the singularity.
“Grok, write me a song in the style of John Lennon.”

I don’t think real musicians will go away, as AI-generated music still sounds too obviously fake, but yes you can certainly create the songs as a decent demo and get musicians to cover it. So it’s the composers that are in deep doo-doo.
Flash!....it has been for 3 years already....it’s only increasing

Yup. I know some retired construction guys like me that make a killing as a handyman. A lot of people don’t know what to do if a light bulb burns out.
AI is going to cause a white collar job bloodbath in next 5-7 years. The ensuing recession will be blamed on Trump immigration and tariff policies.>>> Eventually the AI will turn into your Democrat relative sociopath that knows everything.
Glad I only have a few more years before retirement.
Even though I could be replaced by AI, for some reason I just always like automation. I guess that's because I love to see more get done faster.
I wouldn't mind at all getting pushed into house-flipping. :)
All the creators, movie producers and computer game creators.
I’ve seen people produce entire movie plots from a simplified initial plot. With imagery constantly improving, a single person or small group could produce $400 million movies for few hundred thousand dollars.
Also, if AI can’t replace the accounting departments then i think it is a hoax. Having spent 17 years running a $8B a year payable system where i automating everything i could, the accounting folks couldn’t close the monthlies in less than 3 weeks mostly. I always asked them if they wanted me to automate or make some of their manual postings easier and they always declined. They also couldn’t close on the 1099 or manage the escheat stuff. I had to take those reporting’s over as well.
I use Claude Code, I think of it as having a Junior Programmer. One of the things I do, is include a lot of my coding examples in a folder, that it will use to determine the coding style I prefer to do, and also to add documentation to make sure it uses the proper versions of the packages, that’s where you can get in a lot of trouble, if it uses outdated packages.
ainly create the songs as a decent demo and get musicians to cover it. So it’s the composers that are in deep doo-doo.>>> As Ai advances much of the output will sound a lot like your sociopathic democrat relative.
There will never a prompt that says, “I want the vocals in the style of Yoko Ono” ;)
It is a tool people like my son will use correctly. He does coding and AI allows him to be creative without bogging down in the mundane.
It used to be, “They should learn to code.” Now its, “Learn to be a plumber.”
I wonder what it will be next year.
