Jonah Goldberg, editor-in-chief of The Dispatch and longtime Never-Trumper, suggested that the Democrats could send the military to confiscate firearms from law-abiding Americans.
Goldberg framed his comments during a panel discussion on violent crime in major Democrat-run cities, comparing it to Donald Trump’s efforts to use federal resources to restore order in places like Chicago.
Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson signed an executive order last month, titled the “Protecting Chicago Initiative,” aimed at preventing the potential deployment of the National Guard by President Donald Trump to address the city’s rampant crime issues.
Johnson, a far-left Democrat, claims the order is necessary to defend residents’ constitutional rights amid fears of what he calls an “unconstitutional and illegal military occupation.”

They might succeed, albeit at a great cost. That event would be followed by Chinese occupation once the armed populace was no longer a threat. Goldberg may be highly educated, but he is an idiot.
That’s exactly what the Gun Grabbers want no matter how much they lie when they deny it. Think those troops would stop at confiscating your guns? Of course not. With you now rendered defenseless, you would be completely at their mercy. That’s what they really want. That’s why they’re so fanatical in support of gun grabbing.
Just reading this I think Goldberg isnt supporting this but is using it to both question the president’s use of troops to fight crime and as acwarning that the Dems might go one better by using troops to confiscate guns.
Maybe FURIOUS would be a better word.

Anyone who thinks that police/national guard/federal agents/etc wouldn’t follow orders to confiscate citizens’ firearms is hopelessly optimistic (I was going to say a fool, but that would be insulting even if true). Just look at the gun confiscations in NYC during the reign of the jackass David Dinkins. Police didn’t hesitate to confiscate firearms and arrest the owners. Has anyone ever seen a news story where police refused an order to take firearms from anyone? I can’t recall seeing any such. Does anyone think military is not going to follow similar orders?

There are many nations where private gun ownership has been outlawed or greatly restricted - Great Britian and Australian included. The peoples of Great Britian and Australian submitted without a fight.
Our history reflects incidents when government orders are carried out to the detriment and death of innocent Americans. U.S. soldiers and law enforcement carried out the government's prerogative knowing its deadly impact on fellow Americans.

No, I don't have faith in our soldiers or law enforcement to do the right thing. Following orders and pensions are their priority.
