Beer can chicken is the best.
I tossed a couple family packs of legs and thighs on the Traeger last night. It went nicely with fresh tomatoes and cukes for supper.
Apple butter is reducing in the slow cooker. It should be cooked down enough to put in jars and process by this evening, but Mrs. Augie and I have a date tonight at the drive-in theater with granddaughter so the canning will have to wait until the weekend.
Think I'm going to cancel the fishing trip on Sunday. There's just too much stuff that I need to get done here.
Ugh...
We used to make ‘Beer Butt Chicken’ quite often. Not sure why we stopped? Probably the invention of the Costco Roast Chicken for five bucks!
Another trick is to mount the chicken on a Bundt Pan filled with potatoes, onions, carrots - whatever ‘sturdy’ veggies you like and bake.

Now Augie! Why would you need to? Don't you have a pond on the property? :)
I know, you were looking at some of these!
