We should all contact amazon/grocery stores and ask why they are in support of poisoning our poor with these items on SNAP/EBT.
Fruits have Fructose sugar which does not require loads of insulin production by the pancreas to convert into energy used by muscle cells. Any calories not burned up from fruits is converted to fat by liver for future use. Humans evolved with millions of years of no refrigerators stocked with food. Getting food required lots of physical labor. That is why our genes like to conserve every ounce of excess calories ingested by converting it to fat. Fat is body’s saving account.

RFK just put a ruling in that mandates medical schools to teach nutrition.
Doctors know absolutely nothing about nutrition. I go to a doctor who knows this and has a nutritionist on staff.
Before EBT, dirtbags would structure small purchases to get maximum change. Then tbey’d pester people outside the store to do it for them. Enough pocket change, and they could buy cigs or beer. There’s a guy walking the streets, today, that stabbed a couple of people (one fatally) for refusing to go along with his little scheme. Probably some retailers that would oblige by buying Food Stamps at a fraction of face value. Now, with EBT, they fo yhe bottled water scam. Buy cheap water, dump it out, and get the cash deposit on the bottles.
We could use Mandami’s formula-the government run grocery store. Just rice and beans for those on food stamps. The regular stores shouldn’t accept EBT cards.
I’m glad it’s a Kennedy that’s doing this. It takes the racism charge out of it.
To be clear EBT cards can not be legally used to buy those items you listed except candy. That also needs to be eliminated
But we know they will still cheat with the EBT cards

All people who pay for their own food get to choose. Those on EBT? Beggars can’t be choosers…
The powerful junk food industry, CocaCola, Little Debbie, Hostess, etc., will fight this tooth and nail - and produce reports claiming their high sugar/fat/ultra processed “food” isn’t as bad as RFK claims it is.
Phone companies. The 6 cents everyone pays for lifeline services for the poor. The poor got 50% off their BASIC monthly bill. That way they could call an ambulance in an emergency.
The extras(call waiting/forwarding) were available for an extra charge. These people couldn’t afford basic phone service but they had money for the extra features. The phone companies role in all this? They were happy to accept the extra money as long as the public subsidized the basic service. Then came the Obamaphone.
HMO-they supported Obamacare. Good for business.
yep, and not even included are the fake juices, fake “sports” drinks”, sugared & flavored milk, sugared cereals, cakes, pies, and other a myriad of other pre-baked goods ... now add in chips, and you’re probably up to 50% of what snap is paid for ...
it would be far easier to list what SNAP would pay for than what it want:
a starter list:
meat and seafood in all forms (excluding added sweetener forms)
all forms of legumes (excluding added sweetener forms)
vegetables and fruits in all forms (excluding added sweetener forms as well as all fruit juice)
all WHOLE grains (excluding added sweetener forms)
milk and milk products in all forms (excluding added sweetener forms)
eggs in all forms
seed flour bread and corn bread, both risen and flat in all forms (excluding fried forms such as chips as well as all added sweetener forms)
all nuts (excluding added sweetener forms)
cooking oils and fats (excluding semi-synthetic forms such as anything made with hydrogenated oils)
baking supplies [excluding sweeteners] and seasonings

Using the regular stores saves the cost of overhead that a government EBT store would have.
He forgot to add Medicare going broke and millions losing insurance or rural hospital coverage or both. They can pay for diabetes with pocket change as well.
And then there are the many, many foods purchasable via SNAP benefits don’t look like candy...until about ten minutes after they hit one’s stomache.

Come on! I’d be happy to help pay for those apartheid stores. You know Members Only. Teachable. What good and what’s not good to eat. Freebies are not free. More stigma they shouldn’t be proud of.
Making SNAP conditional on what the GOVERNMENT says you should eat....is just plain wrong.
Only us better off folks can FREELY buy junk food? Yay for you and me!!
