The leaders of China and India say there is now deepening trust between them after years of tension that includes a long-running border dispute.
China's President Xi Jinping and Indian PM Narendra Modi met on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) in the port city of Tianjin. It is Modi's first time in China in seven years.
Xi told Modi that China and India should be partners, not rivals while Modi said there was now an "atmosphere of peace and stability" between them.
President Putin is also at the summit, attended by more than 20 world leaders, but this year overshadowed by trade wars with the US.
President Trump has imposed steep tariffs on Indian goods as punishment for Delhi's continued purchase of Russian oil, and Putin faces threats of sanctions for his ongoing war on Ukraine.

If Modi believes Xi then he's an idiot. As India absorbs American outsourcing escaping China, the Chinese will start to get desperate. That's when things will turn bad between them.

A host of mideasters oil countries are dialogue partners, like Saudi Arabia, Qatar and UAE
They both have the same thing: relatively cheap labor.
They both need the same things: oil, and a marketplace to sell goods.
Peace between the two, would be nice. But from an economic standpoint — as a partnership — I don’t see how they help each other.
Biden did that and the global homo neocon Z puffers.
Second cuppa required.
Seems so. One notes that the "Egypt" thread this morning regarding this did not mention Ukraine once, while the BBC thread did.
In a real world, your neighbor -- love him or hate him -- is still right across the fence. Which is why fences, but also reasonable relations are both advised.
Or one can do the Hatfields and McCoys, whether across a backyard fence or globally.
China still controls the Aksai Chin region it seized from India in 1962.
In a letter to U.S. President John F. Kennedy, Nehru condemned Chinese "expansionist and aggressive militarism" and asserted that it threatened the "survival of free and independent Governments" across Asia. He also requested U.S. military assistance.
Your Ukraine war is pushing all these new friends into each others’ arms.
Putin is the invader, Ivan.
Putin invaded America? Ukraine is a European problem. Crazy Europeans can’t get along with each other. Both world wars started in Europe. Third world war will also start in Europe.
In the fable, China’s the scorpion, India the gullible, obliging fellow ferrying it across the stream.
ROFL , they’re doing their own Babylon Bee
The third world war will start in your third world crapholes.
Idiots like you pushed Russia into an alliance with China and now you’ve done the same with India.
I think that slightly incorrect. It is very likely none of us Freepers have any real influence on politicians, nor nations. This is generally a discussion forum, best I see it.
But, in these threads, there form obvious "alliances," not particularly helpful to discussion and debate, and also likely not to the fulfillment of the Robinsons' fundraising.
--- "Putin is the invader, Ivan."
Kazan is not "Ivan," of course. Anyone who knows of movies knows Elia Kazan, who interestingly is of Greek background. Additionally, "Ivan" is a Slavic name in Ukraine, as well as Russia and other nations employing the Cyrillic alphabet and naming traditions.
Moreover, Marcus is a Russian name too, when spelled Маркус. And used in Ukraine as well, since the Rome tradition lingers over centuries.
What is certain is that the Ukraine-Russia war will resolve as it will resolve and when it resolves.
