This is interesting.

Think that if a similar process could be developed for parts of the eyes?

Regenerative medicine is fascinating. You could one day lose an arm and it grow back.

I remember seeing recently that a hospital in Israel was preparing to perform such a transplant on a human. Have not yet seen a follow-up story.

What a wonderful thing this would be. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

I’d be happy if they could just replace the cartilage in my knees and shoulder joints!

It is being done.

Like to know about that.
Been to multiple orthopedics and Mayo Clinic.
It’s never been offered as an option.

“Like to know about that.”

I am not versed enough on the subject to pass along information.

Google is a better source than I am.

Thanks!
The article has some clues as to why it’s not been offered as an alternative.

My age & arthritic damage in addition to the cartilage loss.

Oh well. I really don’t want artificial joints.
I know individuals who’ve had positive results. Others who ended up worse off.

The legacy of untold numbers, perhaps in the millions, of laboratory animals that are mutilated, die in pain, and sent to an incinerator so we can have fancy medical prosthetics.

“I know individuals who’ve had positive results. Others who ended up worse off.”

My neighbor, who just turned 80, has had both knees replaced in the last couple of years.

She had some infection complications but is very satisfied with the replacements.
