There was a 16% decrease in the number of immigrants arriving in Ireland in the 12 months to April 2025 as 125,300 came to live in the State, according to the latest figures from the Central Statistics Office.
It was the fourth successive year when there were more than 100,000 people coming to live in the country.
It means net migration, the number of people arriving less those leaving, was 59,700, a drop of almost 20,000 on the previous year.
Of the immigrants, 31,500 were returning Irish citizens, 25,300 were other EU citizens, 4,900 were UK citizens and the remaining 63,600 were from other countries.
Today’s CSO figures show there was a 96% surge in the numbers coming from the US as 9,600 came to live in Ireland, up from 4,900 in the previous 12-month period. …

My neice and her husband went to Ireland and Scotland a few years ago. Said Ireland was dangerous and dirty, Scotland far nicer.

Well it getting pretty crazy! And yes the Irish are starting to get pissed off about migrants and the amazing benefits they get. Started with the Ukrainians and now we have a wave of non vetted military age hardened men filling/flooding into the country- mostly Muslim. Meanwhile we have a horrific housing shortage…. Our building process is crap in terms of planning. You having to go through the steps of planning process and have permission for development but the have made exceptions for IPAS centers(international protection for Asylum Seekers) so iPas centres they are being funded by the Muslim brotherhood and they are trying to put them up here there and in every small community… (the plan is to divide small communities) the eu pays billions to house these people. They are moving in a load of migrants and now the fun has begun. We have daily stabbings, rapes and killings the new gangs are at war in the streets with one another - swords fights, machete and beatings are happening where ever these ipas centres are . So the Irish have been protesting the iPas centers and and burning the buildings that are being renovated into housing. Many an old hotel marked to be renovated into an IPAs center has been burnt out ….
People here are feel we should be taking better care of our own homeless, (which is around 15thousand now) rather than give so much to people who will destroy their culture…
There are two mind frames- one is to embrace as sure the Irish have gone everywhere in the world so it’s our turn to welcome the poor unfortunate creatures and then there are those who don’t like what is happening around the rest of Europe and just want them out so the division has started…. This is the republic of Ireland I am talking about… the north, oh Lordy it is a different kettle of fish up there and those guys don’t mess around up there… savage stuff going on up there….
Due to the fact that our police force is completely overwhelmed and unable to cope with men with swords as they don’t carry weapons people are starting to protect their own. We had a case of Roma community raping young girls- three rapes and 5 assaults - nothing done by the gaurda so the community burnt them out and ran them… time and time again this is happening. You see a large middle eastern man being crazy in the streets, gaurda roll up, look around and leave so it come down to people starting to protect their own and anger is growing at the government as more and more people continue to arrive and now opening threatening violence against Irish women and children… fun times! Fortunately they hate the rain and stick to the cities but even out here in the west things are changing. They are trying to change this country from a Catholic country to something else….
