Burning Man is being torn apart by sand storms just one day into the iconic festival, with 50mph winds tearing up tents and trashing art.
Thousands of attendees have been weathering apocalyptic scenes, with some wearing ski goggles and surgical masks to brace against the storm.
The National Weather Service (NWS) warned that a 'wall of blowing dust' from Smoke Creek and Black Rock Desert would move over the site on Saturday and Sunday.
Campsites which were erected on the eve of the celebration were damaged by the dust storm as it tore through the Nevada desert before the festival even began.
The NWS advised attendees - known as 'Burners' - not to travel to the area, and to expect sudden reductions in visibility if they were there already.
Dramatic videos posted online showed festival-goers being battered by fierce winds as their belongings were coated in a thick film of dust.
Several structures could be seen already destroyed, with some gazebos being reduced to metal tent frames after fierce winds stripped away the tarp.
One man posted a selfie showing his face covered in dust, and images circulated of men wearing cargo pants huddled in a van while waiting for the storm to pass.

Maybe Gods finally had a belly full of that deviant behavior and idol worship......it certainly wouldn’t be the first time.

One year it’s massive flooding and now this. God seems to be more vocal lately.

The attendees are loving it. They know this will happen every year and consider a part of the experience. Thank the Lord, once again poverty has saved me.

It’s a pretty harsh location for the event even when the weather behaves.
I suppose it would be hard to get a permit anywhere else for such a large gathering like that.
Think about it... Human filth and feces hitting you in the face at 50mph. Yuk!, not Yuck!
They waited until high school and college started up before they began Burning Man. All of those drama majors at the colleges will be in classrooms and not able to attend. Somehow these schedules are just not in alignment.
Mocking God has its consequences.
I thought they were all dead from AIDS by now.

what a cool place! 60 year old hippies, they pretend to be hip and they can get anal bleaching in the tents! where do i sign up?
A former coworker, a guy in his 60s, was a diehard burner. It was the high point of his year. Even when I was young, I wouldn’t have wanted to get within 100 miles of that mess for free, much less pay hundreds of dollars to go there.
It’s interesting, though, that Burning Man gate receipts are in the tens of millions of dollars each year. I wonder where it all goes.
I’m no Bible expert but I can think of a couple of God’s 10 easy to follow rules The Burning Man is messing with. I’m not sure where it says God will not be mocked but I think it’s in there somewhere as well.
