‘Terrible Idea’: Conservatives Rage Over Trump’s ‘Socialist’ Intel Purchase
Mediate ^ | Aug 23 | Isaac Schorr

“It is my Great Honor to report that the United States of America now fully owns and controls 10% of INTEL, a Great American Company that has an even more incredible future. I negotiated this Deal with Lip-Bu Tan, the Highly Respected Chief Executive Officer of the Company,” wrote Trump on Truth Social. “The United States paid nothing for these Shares, and the Shares are now valued at approximately $11 Billion Dollars. This is a great Deal for America and, also, a great Deal for INTEL. Building leading edge Semiconductors and Chips, which is what INTEL does, is fundamental to the future of our Nation. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! Thank you for your attention to this matter.”

“Preposterous move. If Obama had done this, so many of the people defending it would have correctly condemned it as overreach and interference and ‘picking winners and losers,'” concurred National Review senior editor Charles C.W. Cooke.

Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) preempted Trump’s announcement by tweeting “If socialism is government owning the means of production, wouldn’t the government owning part of Intel be a step toward socialism? Terrible idea.”

The Constitution, maybe the most inspired political document ever created that birthed one of the greatest and freest nations ever, is the ONLY LEGAL BULWARK OF FREEDOM against the tyranny of the Left.

That is why the Constitution is hated by the tyrants of this world and should be preserved, protected and defended by Patriots who love America.

I love America and the Constitution because I LOVE FREEDOM.

I’m still wondering if Trump had an important reason for doing this.
The US gov't owning minority stakes in publicly traded companies will tend to head off unfriendly nations - China - controlling or adversely directing our fortunes, spying on them/us, stealing intellectual property and on the other side, will allow for more timely inspection by our alphabet agencies.

“Anything goes as long as the trains run on time, right?”

Let’s look at what Conservative Orthodoxy hath wrought:

- Free Traitors and the destruction of middle America

- Open borders and the blight of illegals

- Neocons and the endless wars

So yeah, whatever it takes to get rid of that.

So you’re all for nationalizing industries? CCP-like control of all countries and serfs?

They must be forgetting that the Federal government owns half of the land in most western states.

Was the Louisiana Purchase socialism? I believe Jefferson said he really had no Constitutional power to purchase the land but it doubled the size of the country.

Interesting.

Nortel Networks augured in without a government bailout. And Nortel DMS-10s, DMS-100s and 200s are still in active use, not to mention CS1000’s BCMs, SRG50s, etc. Parts are available no problem.

Trump absolutely has the most important reasons for doing so.

Advanced tech chips are about as strategic as it gets - both militarily and economically.

These days even a lowly home PC connected online can cause a lot of damage and mission critical electionsic in infrastructure and defense are very susceptible to malware hard coded into the art work on advanced chip sets.

This silicone level malware is all but impossible to detect given today's ultra high multi level, fine scale circuit densities. Having a ownership interest give the government the standing to supervise, veritfy and check the production of mission critical chips.

A lot of people in the defense electronics are very nervous about what is going to work and not work in the next big conflict with major cyber warfare events.

Government owned and ran arsenals that produced powder, shot and shell until the late 19th century (maybe beyond!). Springfield Arsenal comes to mind! All done for security needs. They also contracted that activity out on an as needed basis. Think of chip technoloy & science as the modern equivalent of powder, etc. because in many ways it is. If you think of it that way it’s not so unusual. The main problem will IP. Who owns it?

Thanks, I'm used to it. God has called me to speak the truth and As Paul said, "there are many adversaries" (1 Corinthians 16:9).

But God has my back. Stepping into the arena of battle, but then the Lord says "The battle is not yours but mine" (2 Chronicles 20:15), so I just rest and watch him win the day.

Blessings.
