An American woman who traveled to the UK to try to assassinate her lover’s business rivals — only for the gun to jam on her — was sentenced Thursday to 30 years in prison.
Loved-up Aimee Betro, 45, traveled from Wisconsin for the twisted murder plot nearly six years ago in Birmingham, England, to please Mohammed Nazir, a British man she fell for on a dating app.
Surveillance footage caught Betro as she hid behind a full Islamic niqab face covering while waiting in a car — then stepped out to try to shoot her main target’s son, Sikander Ali, as he arrived home, just for the pistol to jam.

The answer: Leo Blair (father of Eric Blair / George Orwell) was the illegitimate son of two entertainers and was adopted as a baby by the Glasgow shipyard worker James Blair and his wife, Mary.
Further, Eric Blair / George Orwell had no children save one adopted son.
So: No blood connection.

I just saw The Rise and Fall of Legs Diamond (1960, Ray Danton). A classmate in 7th grade in 1960 recommended it and I finally got around to seeing it last night. Very good movie.
Diamond paid his old sergeant from the Army (1920s) to train him in shooting both left handed and right handed plus sniper training. On his own he would have qualified as expert level in the Army.
If a gun jammed or was out of ammo he had fine accuracy with the other one.
Orwell’s name was Eric Blair.
She needs to view the entire John Wick series.
Maybe those clown glasses messed up her view of the correct target.
There are some women who can bring off those glasses. She definitely isn’t one of them.
I think that’s the least of her problems.
A lot of people think he crimes of fashion are worse than her actual crimes.
How did she get a hub into the UK? Or did her boyfriend have someone provide one to her when she got there?

Smart girl, at least when it came to looking like she was British...or at least what Brits look like now.
