Kroger Announces Closure of Multiple Supermarkets in Washington State Due to Crime (VIDEO)

Earlier today, the Gateway Pundit reported that Bed Bath & Beyond is bailing on Gavin Newsom’s California. Now it is being reported that Kroger is closing a number of their supermarkets in Washington state due to crime.

BREAKING: Grocery stores closing in Everett, Washington due to high crime and open air drug markets.

— Tom Fitton (@TomFitton) August 20, 2025

This is what people on the left don’t seem to understand about crime. When you tolerate it, everyone suffers for it. The people in Washington who depend on these stores for the goods they need are now going to suffer hardship because their political leaders decided not to prosecute criminals.

The mayor of one of the affected towns actually had the audacity to complain about this decision.

FOX 13 in Seattle reports:

Everett, WA mayor calls out Kroger for closing more grocery stores

After Kroger announced it will close more stores in western Washington later this year, some believe the grocery corporation is putting profits over people.

“A lot of people who live in our Casino Road community commute by foot, so this has been their primary grocery store to shop for their basic needs,” said Mayor Cassie Franklin of the City of Everett.

The Ohio-based company blamed “a steady rise in theft” among their reasons for closing six Fred Meyer and QFC stores through October, but Mayor Franklin says the CEO cited “financial reasons” when they spoke on Monday.

“We have done shoplifting emphasis stings, we’ve done emphasis patrols, we have created a buffer zone around that store and crime is down in all areas, especially shoplifting,” said Mayor Franklin.

Here’s a local video report:

they understand full well the results of high crime... and what is THE ONLY solution when something finally has to be done about it? total government control of the area. it is not a mistake what they are doing. its a plan.

These folks could always move to NYC next year and go to a gummit grocery store.

This is what communists do when they take over. They
ruin everything, bringing death and destruction.

My wife’s nephew does metal fabrication work in Seattle. Last week he told me there are brand new tall buildings in Seattle that are totally unoccupied.

Cartels (and others) use commercial real estate to launder money. They don't need the buildings occupied.

No. They do understand it. They want chaos. They want us to suffer. They want to destroy.

"some believe the grocery corporation is putting profits over people"

I believe I've identified the problem...

If a business isn't profitable, it dies. How does that help people?

The whole supermarket system is based on honesty.
I tis really not that easy to stop shoplifters, but if people like old fashioned, church going Americans are honest, it works.
In many places in the world, the crime so prevalent, that a supermarket cannot function. The merchandize is locked behind counter and clerk will bring it forward, if customer asks for it. Not very efficient, but it prevents shoplifting!
Looks like some parts of America are becoming such places!

The Democrat Party truly believes crime and criminals will get them votes ... Because one criminal protects another.

Red and Blue cities/states are showing more separation, which is good for comparisons. The Dem Party seems to be migrating to the extreme extreme Left which is not at all popular with mainstream Americans - it will help wake people up, like Bidenflation did.

Secure. Your. Damned. Elections.

Might have worked 20 years ago. Now not so much.

Dems rule Washington now, and if they can’t, they cheat their way to power. And if they can’t do that, they undermined what they failed to take, until there is nothing left anyone would recognize. Its to the point where elections, secure or not, will not fix or change the situation.

.......

When you favor your criminals over your businesses, don’t try to act shocked that the businesses leave and leave you your criminals.

But that’s sort of by design in schiffholes
