Why Alaska? Whose idea was that?

It's halfway for both of them.

I'm sure it was because Trump could control "Z"....I mean he showed up at a funeral and a meet with the Pope so he could corner Trump.

"Z"...No USA for you.

Less chance of assassination of either.
Alaska close to Russia
Easily secured air force base
Both leaders travel similar distance
Russia at one time owned Alaska
Away from media a**es
Probably lots of input from lots of people.

Not sure who but the reason is probably security nether leader has to fly over hostile airspace.

With Putin's history of shooting down adversary's planes (polish president, Wagner) he probably a bit paranoid about venturing out right now.

That'd be my guess, but I don't get the memos

“”Why Alaska? Whose idea was that?””

Cause... it’s closer to Putin’s home than Maralago and safer than DC? (just a guess) Also read there are talks of Alaska “minerals sharing” or something. Makes perfect sense to have it there.

Why Alaska? Whose idea was that?

Easier to secure than Fort Ross in California.

I think the ICC (Europe) has an arrest warrant out on Putin. By placing the meeting on US soil, Zelensky's attendance can be prevented. A remote location in Alaska is between US/Russia and easily defended.
