The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a must see. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductions and all the politics, not so much.
Chubby Checker is ninety years old.
And he ain’t in the HOF.
That’s a ton of disrespect in my book.
My mistake.
I misread the story as Chubby being 90.
He’s ONLY 83.
That said it’s still disrespectful he ain’t in it yet.
Let’s do the twist!
“The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a must see.”
The wife and I been to Cleveland to the Hall of Fame. It was a real snoozer. It was not worth the 5 hour drive from home, even though I had other business in Cleveland. First off, there are too many in the HOF that are not even rock and roll. And them they had to include the rappers?
Chubby Checker is still alive,????
Yet they have many RAPPERS in the HOF. WHY???
Let’s twist again, like we did last summer.
As a Philly guy, he’s pissed the Rock Hall Of Fame isn’t in Philly. The Twist is still a great song and dance.
He’s alive and well, we saw him earlier this year and the show was great.the best part was all the people on stage with him doing the twist for the last song!
Off topic — but does anyone have an opinion on the Baseball HOF in Cooperstown? I’ve never been, but I’ll be passing by in September and thought I might drop in. I’m not a huge baseball fan, and I’m mostly interested in early baseball, deadball era and up into the 1950s or so. Is it an enjoyable trip? I’m not sure I want to commit a day to it.
Cooperstown is a throwback little town. It’s very pretty up there and the museum is done up nicely. Go in the fall and be sure to check out the Ommegamg brewery.
Carol Kaye is a boss still to this day. You tell em Carol.
Right!
Congratulations to Chubby Checker and I love the way he’s celebrating it. And yes, it’s late in happening. I played for a guy who should have been in his state’s country music hall of fame but wasn’t. So, I nominated him, and now he’s in. Another guy told me, “You get all your big awards way after all your accomplishments.”
His only hit is a song he didn't even write.
Spinal Tap has a better argument to be inducted into the Rock and roll Hall of Fame than does Chubby Checker.
I knew he had to be pretty damn old. Man, he was the Twisting guy when I was growing up, and I am old.
“Chubby Checker”
Did he do anything besides Blueberry Hill and a twist song?
Mr. Campbell’s Chin,
Respectfully, I disagree. Stevie Nicks is in the R&R HoF and the woman sounds like a yodelling goat. Does George Michael belong in the HoF (or it’s mens’ room?). They also overlooked KISS forever. I think Mr. Checker deserves a space.
If they finally inducted the Sex Pistols, they can induct Mr. Checker.
Let’s just be greatful they never thought about The Knack.
