Being a client of SNAP has many benefits that often go unnoticed. You can purchase tickets to museums and cultural events at a discount, buy MBTA tickets at a lower fare, and more.
The primary benefit SNAP clients receive is funds on an EBT card that are reloaded monthly to purchase groceries every month. While these funds are flexible for both the types of groceries you purchase and where you purchase them from, there are a few important limitations to be aware of before you head to the checkout

There should be no such thing as Federal Government provided Charity.
“Nobody is really willing to reduce the incentives of the intergenerational welfare programs. To do so would vastly affect blacks, which would be labeled “racist”.
So several generations of lost wastrels are created and permanently subsidized in their sloth, gluttony, and criminality to the detriment of absolutely everyone.
Because “Racist!” “
Yep! Guilting is how they control the useful idiots. See my tag line!
Also be extremely careful before you hand out bennies, because you’ll pay the pains of hell if you ever try to take them away.
Technically beer/ale has quite a few calories in it. Especially if you drink a porter or stout.
Alcohol is a complex sugar/carbohydrate.
I would think you could live off of just beer for an extended period of time much longer than just water.
So, beer is food. Eat up!
KEEP IN MIND THAT THE KIDS ARE GETTING FREE MEALS AT SCHOOL-—AND THE SNAP BENEFITS NEVER SEEM TO DEDUCT THOSE FREE MEALS FROM THEIR CALCULATIONS.
Juice is just as bad as soda.
Help me understand why the stores where these benefit cards are used, ( walmart, target, grocery stores, dollar general, etc.) all have a huge volume of gift cards, all types.
Why?
I think the reason is they can buy gift cards with snap/ebt cards. Then they can buy alcohol and tobacco with the gift cards, or sell them.
These welfare bums are not the most generous people on the planet, there is a reason all the stores sell “gift cards”.
Bet I’m the only person on FR that absolutely hates beer.
Tried it again recently whenI read a book by an MD called “Eat to Beat Disease”. Author calls beer a miracle food so I drank it for about three weeks. Couldn’t stand it so I’m back to a nice glass of Chardonnay with dinner every night.
Juice is loaded with sugars. It’s really not the best choice for hydration

snap for food can’t buy gift cards.
What they don't do is give the kids Whole Milk...only skim or 2% and it's half the size of what we had in school in the 50s.
That's all the kids got in school...no free breakfast and lunch. We had breakfast at home and went home for lunch. Of course that was before they started the busing cr**.
Look at the school meals in your local schools. Michelle did our kids no favors.
I wish RFK Jr would look at the school meals.
Agree....100%...
You can NOT buy gift cards with SNAP.
??
That was what I posted.
Oops....sorry...I stopped reading too soon.
We also ate breakfast at home but brown bagged it for lunch.
The milk was crap. Warm and often sour and they would NOT replace it. You could BUT another one out of the same warm crate the last bad one was in. We simply didn’t have the money. My mom wouldn’t even spring for chocolate milk for 1 penny more. We didn’t have the money, not for 5 of us for 5 days a week.
How we survived with out brown bag lunches sitting in our lockers warming up all morning and the sour milk is beyond me.
“beer — the miracle food”
Now we’re talking!!
I don’t like beer much either, but some of it is better than others.
Yes. And if you're 21 or older, nobody will refuse sale to you if you're paying with regular green-back dollars.
We need to strongly incentivize getting off welfare, earning real Yankee Dollars via honest work, and spending them the way you want.
We had cereal and milk at home. School was close and we walked home for lunch.
We had a mile walk and a short lunch so could not make it.
And 4-6 we lived in NJ in the country and that was no better.
