Long dormant Russian volcano erupts, spews ash 4 miles high
UPI ^ | Aug. 3, 2025 | Mark Moran

An eastern Russian volcano has erupted for the first time in more than 500 years, which may have been related to an 8.8 magnitude earthquake last week...

The Krasheninnikov Volcano on the Kamchatka Peninsula emitted a plume of ash 3.7 miles into the sky overnight. The last recorded eruption of the volcano happened in the 15th century..

...

Last week's massive earthquake was the latest in a series of seismic events in the region, including another temblor that shook a region 11 times zones away from Moscow on the Pacific peninsula

...

Krasheninnikov is one of 8 volcanoes nestled among the reserve near Kamchatka.

Not so much dormant as quiescent.

This without a doubt ๐Ÿง will PROVE to Gavin Newsom and Joy Behar that Global Warming is real.

There were no ๐Ÿš˜ ๐Ÿš˜ ๐Ÿš˜ ๐Ÿš—๐Ÿš—๐Ÿš— automobiles nor SUVs in the 15th century.

SCIENCE!!! ๐Ÿงช๐Ÿงช๐Ÿงช

Mt. Krasheninnikov is part of the Pacific rim. We currently live less than 50 miles from the summit of Mt. Rainier which is also part of the Pacific rim. A week ago we read that “An earthquake swarm at Mount Rainier that started on July 8 is considered one of the largest ever recorded for the volcano, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).”

https://www.kiro7.com/news/local/mount-rainer-earthquake-swarm-is-largest-ever-recorded/UNHHMV3ECBFGRP2WIHN4NJDCXU/

We have woken up to find hanging pictures in our house slightly askew and the cat hiding and acting weird. I think that the Pacific Rim has been becoming more active over the past few decades. Probably it is a brief (in geological time) glitch. But you never know...

For a little perspective here is the Flight Path from our house to the Krasheninnikov volcano.

When will people realize that the number and severity of earthquakes and active volcanoes on earth is increasing?

This is directly related to spaceweather.

What evidence do you have and can you share? What is the timeline you are basing your conclusion on...volcanic activity has been around as long as the Earth has been a ball of rock - I would bet that the have been periods of massive volcanic activity, far greater than what we are experiencing now, in the Earth's past.

Mt. Rainier is the most dangerous in the US because of all the people living near by. Look on one of the maps that shows the probable lahar flows to see if your house is there.

Shucks! Its probably emitted more pollution in one day's eruption than one year of human activity combined!

This will block out the sun, the idiot Brit scientists who wanted to surreptitiously introduce reflective aerosols in the the atmosphere to block the sun, then next thing you know we have month long snows and Continental ice sheets plowing down on us from Canada!!

Moreover if the pressure under Mt Rainer is too great and it erupts - its height is so great [ 14.400 ft ] that the mountain will literally explode; lahar flows will be the least of anyone’s worries.

It was just a small eruption on the VEI scale.

There are now 6, that have become active.

Trying to find out if that is 6 additional on top of the 3 or so, or that is 6 total.

Have seen reports that this one is now the largest active volcano in the northern hemisphere.

Lots of ash, but it hasnt gone into the stratosphere.

We’ll most likely still get to see some ash from those here eventually.

Sorry, I put it on a little mini-computer that I set up this morning as a webserver. I haven't put in all the settings in and it went to sleep. I am not sure if it was the virtual machine or Windows 11 Pro. It is up now.

Cool! Volcanoes in Eastern Russia at that Latitude send ash over the North Pacific, feeding the plankton at the base of the salmonโ€™s food chain.

Weโ€™ll have excellent fishing in about 1.5 years!
