As a kid, I had the two MOST IMPORTANT jobs in our household. Dad got home from work shortly after I got home from school. It was my responsibility to have a fresh pot of coffee on for him.
My other job was to keep him supplied in homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies. Even though he is gone, I should bake some in his honor, today. And have just one.
Yeah, right. Just one, LOL!

Is there anything better than a well-made chocolate cookie straight out of the oven with crisp edges and a soft center?
I’ve gone back to making them like my mother did, from scratch - using real butter and high quality ingredients including good-quality chocolate chips.
The difference from a ready-made roll of “slice and bake” or using margarine is phenomenal.
