A top aide to President Donald Trump on Sunday accused India of effectively financing Russia's war in Ukraine by purchasing oil from Moscow, after the U.S. leader escalated pressure on New Delhi to stop buying Russian oil.
"What he (Trump) said very clearly is that it is not acceptable for India to continue financing this war by purchasing the oil from Russia," said Stephen Miller, deputy chief of staff at the White House and one of Trump's most influential aides.
Miller's criticism was some of the strongest yet by the Trump administration about one of the United States' major partners in the Indo-Pacific.
"People will be shocked to learn that India is basically tied with China in purchasing Russian oil. That's an astonishing fact," Miller said on Fox News' "Sunday Morning Futures."

Trump could very easily tellt he public that due to an on-going federal investigation he cannot comment. This is not the case nor the lens thru which we are watching Trump act as gate keeper on the Epstein information.
We are now being told Trump’s name has been redacted more than twice in the Epstein files by the FBI alone. We do not know the circumstances for which his name is redacted.
Trump could address this in good faith and allow the legal process to verify his talking points. Again, Trump has some type of jeapodary and then there are the whispers of blackmail of Trump.
We know Trump has dramatically changed his positon and we have seen him try to rebrand Biden policy positons he ran for office againslt as repackaged MAGA centric and MAGA policies.
Someone is pulling Trump’s chain. He is fighting back and walking a tightrope in doing so. I hope he drains the swamp and is not a causality at the same time.
In fact Trump can use the Russian Hoax and Obama/Hillary lies about Trump to his advantage to defect potential damaging information and get the good will of those who support him and now know of the Hoaxes.
Given the damage of the Russian Hoax, one would think Trump could use this information to END US SUPPORT FOR UKRAINE.
Yet the EU continues to buy Russian gas, and China buys more Russian oil than anyone. Turkey buys what they need from Russia too.
Nary a harsh word for any of them.

The Cold War is over, the Soviet Union is gone. The Warsaw Pact is gone. Russia today has a smaller share of their GDP under government control that us (before the war)! Russia is not an atheist communist single party system.
For the US, the Cold War and past largely defines the present, even if the entire foundation has changed. It's bureaucratically institutionalized and culturally inculcated.
India today purchases many of their weapons systems from the West (US, France, UK). We try hard to sell our systems there because India is ((NOT))) block aligned with Russia.

As we push, instead of India distancing themselves from Russia which some here hope, they may very likely align with Russia. That is a real possibility.
