Ms Archerd initially created four embryos, which were frozen.
One became her now-30-year-old daughter but the other three were put into storage.
Despite separating from her husband, Ms Archerd did not want to get rid of the embryos - she wanted to donate them for research or give them to another family anonymously.
However, she wanted to be involved with the baby as they would be related to her daughter.
Ms Archerd paid thousands of dollars a year to store her embryos until she found Nightlight Christian Adoptions.
The Christian embryo adoption agency runs a programme called Snowflakes, which many believe to be saving lives
Rejoice Fertility, the IVF clinic in Tennessee where the Pierces underwent the procedure, said its aim was to transfer any embryo it received, no matter the age or conditions.
Ms Pierce said they did not set out to "break any records", but just "wanted to have a baby".

Oh. For a moment, I thought “World’s Oldest Baby!” was going to be an article about Prince Harry of Montecito.
I hope the kid doesn’t have health issues from being a frozen embryo so long
It is difficult for me to understand the 30 year time period.
Old eggs, being fertilized successfully has been done but what does this prove and why?
30 is nothing. I’ve seen 60 year old babies in Portland, OR. They’re called “Hippies”.
I don’t know what correlations have been shown to exist between the age of an egg and various characteristics of the child, but it’s long been observed that position in a large family - oldest vs. youngest - makes a child more or less likely to display certain characteristics…
..along with the theory that some of these correlations may be due to the age of the egg at conception - I.e., the oldest child in a family was produced by the youngest egg, and visa versa.
Obviously, there are other environmental factors that could explain such differences as well, but it is an interesting theory.
“ I hope the kid doesn’t have health issues from being a frozen embryo so long”
That is a very serious possibility.
Portland, Oregon.
Years ago, my wife and I visited the “Rose City.”
We stayed in a nice hotel that was famous for its wood paneled bar and restaurant. Our trip started out in a pleasant way.
BUT...
We noticed the many, hippie like, people wandering around with 1,000 yard stares wearing tie dyed T-shirts looking as though they had not bathed in weeks.
Panhandlers, aplenty, had to be avoided or else we were given a “ration of shit” for not giving them money!
We vowed to never go there again!
Think that is bad, try San Francisco.
