maybe next year
He’s only willing to deal now because Ukraine is on its last legs according to many military analysts. Quit with the killing of all these young men and end this terrible war now.
Zelensky, playing to his 47, knowing full well that Putin has absolutely no interest in negotiations or peace.
BUT as long as the war continues....I'm a pretend President with all the power. See my problem....
"Zaluzhnyi is now seen as the most credible successor to Zelensky. I have been told by knowledgeable officials in Washington that that job could be his within a few months.
Zelensky is on a short list for exile, if President Donald Trump decides to make the call. If Zelensky refuses to leave his office, as is most likely, an involved US official told me: “He’s going to go by force."
How timely this gif was. "Bad Dream" become reality.
.
I think Putin thinks he’s on the verge of conquering the whole country, which is what he’s always wanted.
So, this must mean zelensky has another surprise drone attack on moscow and throughout russia scheduled for the next few days...
Then, zelensky can launch his attack, and when russia response by pulling out of peace talks, zelensky will claim it’s russia’s fault they won’t negotiate for peace
Just like last time
My suggested negotiating framework:
Step 1, Terms Written Up: Days 1-14
The Russians should be asked to type up a complete long-term peace proposal.
The Ukrainians should be asked to type up a complete long-term peace proposal.
Step 2, Disagreements Highlighted: Days 15-21
Each side should then be asked to state which provisions are not acceptable in writing, and why, and asked to write up alternative provisions.
Step 3, Attempted Resolution: Day 22-35
Attempts should then be made to piece together a deal, both by the parties involved, and by a United Nations committee (of say five people from say Mexico, Argentina, South Africa, Brazil, Switzerland), the Vatican, the US, Hungary, Turkey and maybe even Mexico.
Step 4, Proposal Selection: two days
There have been X peace proposals pieced together, please rank them, Ukraine and Russia.
The one with the highest combined score will then become the basis for negotiation.
Step 5, Revision Process: five days
Each side should again be asked to say which provisions are not acceptable and asked to come up with alternative terms, and any additional terms they feel are needed.
Step 6, Further Resolution Attempts: seven days
Further attempts should then be made to piece together a deal, both by the parties involved, and again by a United Nations committee of say five people from say Mexico, Argentina, South Africa, Brazil, Switzerland.
Steps 4, 5, 6 are repeated if needed until a deal is agreed to.
NOTE: Under my proposal, the parties at war write almost all the wording unilaterally in about two weeks. Third parties then pitch in to try to patch together rational deals. Once that is done, the warring parties are asked to negotiate over remaining differences.
“cease-fire negotiations”
time doesn’t favor the Russians
“Rheinmetall will hold a 60% stake in the joint venture, and the facilities will be capable of producing up to 10,000 missiles per year. Production is expected to begin between 2026 and 2027.”
“Special emphasis will be placed on long-range missiles”
Vlad, can I have a 30-day ceasefire (while the US, EU and Ukraine boost arms production and Ukraine trains about 50,000 more soldiers)?
Nyet, Don, nyet!
Zelensky still pretending he wants the war to end and still demanding a ceasefire.
I believe he needs to listen because the other side says they want a permanent solution in the works before any kind of ceasefire.
But Zelensky thinks he snookered Trump to believe he really wants an end in order to get more money and weapons.
We should have walked away from this mess months ago.
“Peace talks” where he demands impossible concessions - like NATO in Kiev and return of annexed territories.
Translation: “Pokrovsk and Konstyantinivka are encircled, and I need a ceasefire to send troops to reinforce them, and buy time to rig my re-election. Now gimme $80B more.”
From Willy OAM (Ukraine supporter, served in Ukraine military):
“Trump’s newfound support for Ukraine is a welcome lifeline. The question is whether his help will be enough to stop Russia’s relentless attacks before Ukraine is engulfed in a critical military, political, and social crisis that threatens to destroy it from within. But again, all of this [current American shipment) is only defensive weapons. Nothing in this can seize and hold terrain. Men have to do that.”
